Actually maybe not. Idk if having a hs teacher read that content is a good idea hahahahahaha
I have felt it's been a long time since I was truly engrossed in a book/book series. Like I will read books and enjoy them, but not ENJOY THEM where I truly long for more and feel completely inside the word the author has created.
Probably age. ;_;
i took a grad school class on “controversial literature” and on the first day of class the professor read the “wire hangar” passage from american psycho and then said “if this passage disturbs you, this class isn’t for you”
it was easily the tamest passage in the book and when we finally got to that book the women in the class were n o t p l e a s e d
hey, my sig says hello
I dislike The Sword of Truth because of 11 books only 4 are good (though 2 of those 4 are stellar) and the other 7 range from "okay" to the worst fantasy novel I've ever read. And that's before each one becomes a love letter to objectivism.

While the content is gross in your quote, I do actually like the writing. It definitely does a great job giving me both vivid images and characterization that’s wtf (but makes sense). I wouldn’t have dropped out of the class.
I never saw the whole film version, but I’ve seen enough clips to get an idea.

Ellis is garbage tho on this we must part ways
Howard Stern with an MFA
even though I didn’t like less than zero it’s still a strong read
this is coming from someone that considers Camus and Hemingway to be great tho
