i suppose dad-taught in addition to self-taught he used to read me history books and had me study various workbooks as a child. it didn't do wonders for my social life but i would rearrange the furniture in my room and reenact Cannae, Austerlitz, Fall of Tenochtitlan etc with beanie babies who engaged in Dragon Ball Z style combat whilst conducting their military maneuvers.

i wish i were joking but literally the last time Panda and i did shots together we discussed Barère's infamous 'terror is the order of the day' formulation and the Thermidorian Reaction that saw so many of those men themselves fall victim to the terror they had unleashed across France.

This probably isn't an unpopular opinion, but imagine if they did more MCU fight scenes in style single shot without the cuts like they do for Daredevil.

They aren't martial artists but it looks like Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan would've been able to do it with a little practice.

i will concede that star wars is overrated, but y'all takin it way too far. they're good movies for what they are: sci fi action flicks built around the Hero's Journey trope. they were revolutionary in film more because of their filming techniques and practical effects than their writing, though they did break open the sci fi genre to be more main-stream.

harry potter is a treasure and if you disagree you're just plain wrong. rowling needs to write another book if she wants to add to the universe; i aint fuckin with that pottermore shit.

I think JK Rowling suffers from George Lucas syndrome. The actual 7 book set is great, but her efforts to change things post-facto are destructive. And the Cursed Child and the Fantastic Beasts movies just tarnish the original works because she uses them as an outlet to fiddle with stuff that was fine by itself. It all stinks of Greedo shot first.
