I wouldn't take it personally but also why I wouldn't go out of your way too much to pay for everything either on dates. It shouldn't be expected by either side.

Nowadays people lack the ability to communicate effectively amd rather than be honest and say how they feel they just disappear instead. I've had my fair share of it before even after multiple dates so now I'm just more selective as to who I'm willing to even give my time to. I'm already busy with work and trying to forward my career, having a decently active social life and personal improvement that I value quality over quantity but it took me awhile to get there including a failed toxic dating relationship last year.
