Damn, the adversary teams in the past couple games are just pointless additions that are only included for tradition's sake. Might as well just leave them out altogether. Team Skull sucked too. Team Flare were the last good ones and I loved almost everything about XY - the story was really strong for me. I really wish GF would have pushed the release of SwSh back a year or two and packed it full of features and did everything right instead of releasing a bare bones game with unimaginative areas and NPCs. A truly good Pokemon game would probably have pushed me the rest of the way to buying a Switch but I'm just not interested in playing SwSh at all.

Some people were saying a third game is coming out next year. i couldn't find anything official on it. But i wonder if development was pushed more toward this third game and that's why this one is so barebones. Dunno, just thinking out loud.

That Twitter post is poorly worded or disingenuous, one streamer(just one) "hacked" the game and gave himself 999 Master Balls and that (possibly) made the game more glitchy? A lot of guesswork and little substance. The shitty graphics and literally every other negative aspect is still true.

everyone is very mad about this game, maybe justifiably so. if i've never played one of these games before (too old/cool; heavy emphasis on the latter, i'm v cool) and just want to try pokemon go to the polls and play with friends should i get this. bearing in mind there is no other system i can/will have the opportunity to play on

The big thing I'd make sure you're aware of is that Pokemon games are literally designed for like... 5 year olds (despite the average age of players for the franchise being 18+), and the hand holding is supposedly even worse in this game.

If you've never played the franchise before there's probably nothing wrong honestly with jumping into this game. The vast majority of the mad comes from everything that's been cut combined with the fact that the game isn't making any real advancements despite no longer being stuck on DS systems. If you have no prior experience you won't know what you're missing.
