Wouldn't that be pretty much standard for most people who get caught with a hooker? I would think that the vast majority of johns don't go to jail.

Actually, it is LESS THAN $10M, combined. So it could be 6, could be 8, could be 9. After lawyer fees, which were probably massive for this drawn out case, they got pennies compared to what they were seeking. This means the NFL was confident it was going to win any court cases and the prosecution knew this was the best it was going to receive, and very likely lose, if it went further.

As someone pointed out on Twitter, for reference: The NFL is paid $110M per MNF game by ESPN.
