The last time this was suggested, I literally responded saying 2 of my 3 favorite QBs of all-time are black:

1. McNair
2. Manning
3. Vick

R-Wilson is a fucking stud. Loved McNabb way more than Philly fan ever did. I have said Cam Newton has insane talent and ceiling.

I think Murray is going to be garbage and this type of idiotic comment started by me calling Lamar Jackson complete shit, which he is.

Sooooo do you have a reason you think Murray will be garbage? He stepped in for Mayfield into basically the same team and had a better season in his very first year as a QB. Given he also could've played baseball it's fair to see he is in the top .01% of freak athlete

I think Murray is an awful pick because he comes off as intellectually stupid as rocks. His interviews are beyond terrible and he doesn't remotely come off as the type of guy who is first there/last to leave and spends 90 hours a week learning off film.

PFF grades Murray higher than every QB drafted and undrafted, not named Baker, in the last 2 years.
I dunno how much that is true but Kyler sure as hell throws a football a crap ton better than the likes of Lamar.

I put next to 0 weight on college stats. Almost any college QB can do well when playing with Oklahoma level talent vs. the trash teams they mostly play against. His WRs are wide open on almost every go route. The SEC is the only conference where defenses even remotely resemble an NFL version. So that is a wash.

Height doesn't make as QB, in fact, very tall QBs have been largely unsuccessful for awhile, but he is very short and that doesn't do him any favors. He doesn't come off as football-smart, or just smart in general, in interviews and just doesn't strike me as a guy who is going to spend Manning/Brady like time studying film. Watching his play, IMO what I see is a kid who is relying far too much on natural talent (ala Vince Young / Manziel) to win at the college level, instead of dissecting a defense, making adjustments, and making insanely accurate and tough throws of various types. He has 0% chance of success, taking this approach, beyond 1 season. NFL defenses and schemes adapt too quickly to film.

Absolutely, but Lamar wasn't the first overall pick. He was dead last in the first round. Apples to orange in the draft value being spent to acquire him.

If you gave me both for the same price, sure, I'd take my chances on Murray 5 billion times over Lamar Jackson. I think Jackson is the worst 1st round QB taken in a very long time.

I think it's self-fulfilling anyway because coaches are just now slowly coming around to letting shorter guys stay at QB. 10-15 years ago Murray and Mayfield don't even get a chance in HS/college

I think you misread or I wasn't clear enough. I said very tall Qbs (like 6'6-7") have been largely unsuccessful lately. I just read an article about it somewhere.

I'd certainly take a tall one over a short one lol. I was trying to mention the height because someone brought it up, but it was minor in my argument against taking Murray #1 overall.
