I am mystified by how dumb and ignorant some of these GMs are:

That... isn't at all why it was dumb. Aside from the fact that the guy could've easily gone undrafted, you're better off trying out the best FA and rookie kickers and signing the best one. Kicking is random as shit from year to year anyway.

I think it's fascinating that a guy with that much power over a billion dollar value franchise can be so uninformed.
