Kansas City signing Harrison Butker to an extension
Dak’s agent supposedly has opened with 34mil a year.

The language is kinda weird but overall it would put him more or less on the same level as jimmy g.
Overpay of the century, if they agree to that.
i imagine it's impossible for teams to go to a players agent and say their qb should be paid less than jimmy g or kirk cousins. them two fucked up the market so bad lol
I'd much rather have Jimmy G than Prescott. Jimmy is mostly an unknown, but its clear what Prescott is, and that sure as hell isn't the highest (or even top 10) paid QB.
dak, wentz, and goff all entered the league the same year and dak has more total yards, more total touchdowns, less interceptions, and a higher competition percentage than both wentz and goff in those 3 years. dak presgod has so far been statistically better, in every category, than both wentz and goff and he also has more wins than both of them
the fact is he's only made 2 million in the past 3 years so he's going to get paid for what he's done in the league so far. which is a significantly better than people like to give him credit for. i mean in the past 3 years the only qb that has more wins than dak is brady. he cant be as bad as people seem to think he is
i just wish the average going rate for new qb salary cap percentage hit wasn't at 15%
That’s the issue though with how the contracts work in the NFL. Even moreso with QBs. It’s less about the player and a hell of a lot more about market value. His contract will have to reflect or match Wentz who came in the same year in way different rounds. The dude is going to get paid.
If there’s anyone to blame it’s the redskins front office who created the whole Kirk coupons fiasco to begin with. Kirk is the embodiment of a mediocre to average QB, but drove up market prices because he was mishandled and slapped with the franchise tag 2-3 years in a row. Shit was unprecedented.
And I get the QB contact situation, but he just isn't the guy that I would roll that kind of dice on. I guess I would try to wait until the end of the season and see where they will draft. If they think they can get a top prospect, there would be 0% chance I sign him. If not, I guess I'd have to think about it more. I wouldn't hesitate on Goff or Wentz for one second though.
daks ahead of wentz by 1200 total yards and 13 total touchdowns in 8 games. even if wentz had 8 more games the end numbers would be near identical. it could be slightly over. it could be slightly under. its so close it really doesn't matter. statistically their contributions to theirs teams have been the exact same
