Part of it is companies trying to cash in on wokeness for sure and other part is trying to finally get rid of symbols that have been historically racist/oppressive which normalize some of the racist behavior. Both are just riding coattails to the movement.

That word reform went full fucking stupid when MTG removed certain cards because of "racist connotations".

"All black creatures in play are destroyed" and "all white creatures gain stats" are apparently racist. Just change the entire black color set to grey or brown. But wait, that would also be racist because theyre removing black, also racist cause theyre emphasing white taking over black to make grey, or would be racist because theyre removing brown or yellow creatures now.

Fucking mind blowing.

it all seems like massive distraction and waste of time, ive seen pages long discussions on why master/slave replacements for hardrives rarely make sense, and things like the pancake syrup and honestly even the statues all seem like a major distraction from the main issue of police brutality and even like overt racism, real racism things that should actually be focused on.

im not a conspiracy theorist but it wouldnt be a large leap to think some of the distractions are intentional, perhaps it really is just woke people being overly offended but man, pick your battles you would think.

I think the removal/updating of certain statues or company symbols or team names or blah blah is ultimately good in the long run, but I completely agree that it's overshadowing and putting a 'band-aid' on the actual issues, as opposed to making any deep-rooted societal changes that need to happen

I had to hear a whole spiel from this black lady when she was buying black rice and it came up as forbidden rice on the screen. She said black/dark stuff is always bad or negative like dark stormy clouds etc or how since it was called forbidden and it's black that's apparently bad. Even though it's called forbidden rice in china cuz it turns PURPLE when you cook it and only royalty could eat it or something.

She let her dog off leash in a leashed area. I love my pups but thats just rude, and when asked politely to leash it, she literally did a crime.

Why not prosecute? I see no reason for the state to turn a blind eye to it. I'm not saying put her away for 5 years, but some community service and a fine for wasting peoples time is in order.
