I would see employers being so racist that they refuse to hire HBCU graduates as an entirely different, and actually much more serious issue. And illegal, though you'd never be able to prove it.

So, alternate line of conversation.
How do you stop it from happening, or police it if it happens? Do applicants care if they are a quota hire as long as they get the job? Do you feel all of the companies in north america are just paying lip service with their Diversity and Inclusion directives or are they actually trying to follow those directives honestly? At what point does it become elevating one group at the cost of another?
You can't fix it. You regulate what you can and try to send the children of racists to school where chances are the next generation of kids will be less racist than the last and hope after a few generations you make some real headway

So wouldn't schools that prevent people of different ethnicity from coming together in the same environment be a misstep? Eventually the students will be out in the world looking to seek their fortunes and success. They will have to deal with other ethnicity eventually.
Accreditation is probably the better rubric for judging a college’s worth than the demographics of the student population or the college’s name.
I mean look what happened to the South Harmon Institute of Technology.
They were... the SHIT
I wouldn't think it'd be hard to look around oneself in their work environment and figure it out, but I also can see people not caring because they can put food on their table and a roof over their head.
Personally, I'm trying to develop what my issues with the "diversity and inclusive" directives we're seeing now a days.
It's not because I'm worried about being replaced, or given the hard end the stick (though if it runs out of control that could happen). I'm starting to think that diversity and inclusive should also include acceptance and tolerance. Which, they may very well be. I know loud minorities (meaning groups, not ethnicities) tend to drive conversation online.
If the world were a better place it might be like youre thinking val, but we can't get to that better world without addressing how we're holding back minorities now. Maybe when racism is dead we won't need hbcu, but racism ain't exactly dead now is it?

Well, we had a VERY obvious case of discriminatory hiring at my last job but everyone was afraid to speak of for fear of retribution. It was a gender discrimination rather than race.
Short version is a woman was promoted to district manager and was clearly chosen because she was a woman (company had just launched a diversity initiative focusing on women). She had fuck all for experience or qualifications compared to the two men that applied. Then the past two years she's hired 95% women. One of her hires got hurt at work without PPE and skipped the drug test and the DM lied to HR so she could get workman's comp. Same hire got promoted AGAIN a few months later despite meeting literally zero of her quotas. When she was out for two months we hit every one of her quotas running short handed doing her job for her.
So I did make some noise about it. Then, low and behold, when they started making cuts due to covid, who gets terminated first? Me. Despite having been with the company for two more years and exceeding every metric available.
So there's this side too. Do you risk your job and career to speak up, or do you put your head down and ensure your own job security?

The tea is he uses that word because his phone didn't autocorrect. Them true colors coming out.
focked up
Whoops. I get where he's coming from with autocorrect being an asshole - I hate it when it saves misspelled words I didn't mean to type - but damn, man. How often are you calling em that in private?
It took a long time to get duck to become fuck.
Wouldnt be a typo of that magnitude.
I is offset one key to the right of U, and R is offset one key to the left of T. Additionally, U/I is usually tapped by the right hand, and R/T is tapped by the left hand.
I dunno about other phones but I’m pretty sure iPhones won’t autocorrect racial slurs and you have to manually type them in so womp womp
I'm positive they don't either. What word was he originally trying to type? nugget?
