I can actually get on board with the lack of gay characters point you're making but

A) the original conversation was about Rowling saying characters are gay (after she'd already sold all her books and made all her money) therefore changing her stories postmortem versus the Russos confirming or denying fan questions about things that weren't shown on camera

B) Rowling taking the incredibly safe route of becoming a billionaire and then sending some tweets about how Mcgonagall's college roommate was totes bisexual and Grawp experiments with autoerotic asphyxiation isn't the same as the Russos confirming well ahead of time that there will be more openly gay characters in the movies to come.

They allowed Gay couples to get "married" at their parks before it was legal
Stopped supporting the boy scouts when they would not allow gay leaders
Have an openly gay lead on a tv show.

They don't "officially" recognize it but they sure do sell a shit load of gay pride merchandise in the parks. And the night after of the Orlando Pulse Club shooting, they lit up Cinderella Castle in rainbow colors and had a moment of silence. Disney World employs a lot of gay cast members.

Disney history is complicated and Eisner very slowly been trying to brush off its conservative roots for a long time using other avenues, but core Disney and namely feature films have been the last bastion for its "family values." Like you said in the last 5 years or so they begun to push foward with the times, but for something like Avengers the Russo brothers must of fought hard to get that in and that was just for a nameless character.

eh. Her writing style is actually very good, but her plot creation sucks in a rush.

Rowling's success in HP is due to the amount of time she devoted to planning the ever living shit out of it. I have read about many authors having their first book be the one that their brains had been mulling over for decades before finally writing it down. Which is probably what HP was to her.

Because her writing style is good, if she actually sat down and did the planning she did before, I bet her other works would be much better. But she's trying to pump them out too fast making them plot-riddled messes.

With that being said, I wouldn't necessarily peg her as "not a good writer" so much as she's a good writer that's making poor decision considering her weakness.
