I don’t mind playing devils advocate but this dude watches YouTube videos that dissect and break down JRE episodes even ones with just comedian friends on it and then wants to argue with me about whatever thing they commented on. Like... I just can’t...

I didn't know you are such a strong supporter of the paparazzi.

Jennifer Lopez is being sued for copyright infringement over a photo she posted to her Instagram Story in 2017. According to the court documents, filed by Splash News and Picture Agency and obtained by E! News, the picture in question showed the Hustlers star holding hands with Alex Rodriguez while out in New York City. In the docs, Splash News and Picture Agency states that they are the owner and exclusive copyright holder of the picture Lopez posted.
I am not a supporter of paparazzi nor the tactics they use. There are some super scummy photographers out there HOWEVER the law is very clear in that anyone can take a photo of anyone else when they are in public. When they take that photo they own the copyright to it. Funny enough though a photo like that the person owns their likeness so neither party can use the photo for the purposes of making money. In this case JLo shouldn't have used the photo without seeking permission or compensating the photographer first regardless of her thoughts on them being a paparazzi. She was in a public place therefore was subject to being photographed. Should the law change? Maybe? but we aren't talking about what it should be we are discussing in terms of what it is right now.
Not only that but my original point still stands. There are just so many instances of rich famous people exploiting artists for their work without proper compensation. These stories pop up daily in all the photography blogs I read.
Edit: This case is a little different and my feelings about it are slightly different due to the fact that it is one large business suing another rather than a single photographer. (But JLo and other should just know better by now to not post other peoples photos.)
I'll be sure to get kicked out of Christmas dinner this year so I can live up to y'all's expectations.
No but really, the best part about this community and similar ones is that I get to scratch my itch to post insane leftist ramblings here and don't have to do it to people in person. That shit is insufferable. You will literally never see me start a political discussion IRL.
Anyway, Hulk is here to dunk on people.

Remember the great "Banh Mis at the Oberlin College cafeteria are cultural appropriation, actually" freakout of 2017 or whatever?
What if I told you that entire story was essentially nonsense?
