It really depends on the region you're in. Closer you are to the bible belt, the worse it gets. My step brother and step sister went to a catholic high school (even though the family is not religious at all, they wanted the educational benefits versus the local high school) and it wasn't nearly this bad. Hell, the play my step sister starred in her senior year (can't remember the name of it) was so damn raunchy, yet when I was in high school, people were complaining about the excessive use of the words damn and hell in 42nd street that we had to self censor and we were a public high school.

Hank Azaria announced he will no longer be voicing the character Apu on The Simpsons. He said he doesn’t know if the character will be written off the show, only that the decision has been made to not have him voice the character further.
