Netflix is already streaming at 4k using less, so i definitely see all of this as "possible".

Netflix isn't transcoding gameplay video/audio in realtime though, which has a far higher bandwidth overhead to achieve similar visual clarity vs. throwing a source video at a server farm to compress as much as possible with minimal loss, before uploading it.

Also with every publisher basically having their own game pass system, I might make use of them one day to just spend $15 to burn through some new titles that are otherwise $80 in my currency. It also makes me wonder if publishers will try to push more of their releases into games-as-a-service territory to try and keep you roped along like season passes before it. :/

That's stupid. I'd clearly define a difference between microtransactions in a paid or f2p game, and games licensed to you as part of a subscription. I'd consider the latter a "game as a service", but who am I to complain I guess lol
