What If (D+) - August 11, 2021

Howard The Duck has finally used up every last bit of goodwill he earned for bravely battling Thanos and his minions and nobody will comp his drinks anymore, so he sets out on a new adventure in order to come back with a new story worthy of free booze.

I am curious if all of these are going to end up being total one-offs or if we end up getting a What If? Avengers style team up at the end with the main character of each story getting recruited for some kind of big bad.

Finally watched this weeks. Really enjoyed it. Loved seeing Thanos as a good guy and still trying to convince people of his plan. Loved seeing the Black Order still as the bad guys. The ending with the dedication to Chadwick hit me in the feels

Nothing but praise for the meat of the show. Just a fun mini adventure. I love how damn fast these are. I will say I really don't like the narration by the Watcher, or the intro at all really. Marvel intro + Watcher schtick is like 2 minuets long. Praise be the skip intro button

Was gonna say, I got super excited to see they actually added a skip feature to the intro. The Marvel logo takes way to damn long to get through.

Honestly the second Hulk died and how he died, made me think back to the rest and realize "Hey, I know someone who could make all this stuff happen pretty easily."

Yes. It was called "Fury's Big Week".

Probably my least favorite so far of the three, but I did still enjoy it.

I know it’s a small miracle as it is that they got so many of the original films cast to voice their characters, but it makes it all the more noticeable when they DON’T have the original actor. Whoever they had in the first episode that voiced Steve Rogers was really good though.

A ton of the What If comics had really dark endings. The two that stand out the most for me are What If Set had won the Atlantis Attacks, wherein everyone on Earth is killed and the Seven Brides are devoured from the inside by Set's offspring who then depart to conquer other dimensions and What If Spider-Man had kept his six arms, which is actually super happy but when you think about it that sucks because it means 616 got the worse Spider-Man.

A baffling amount of What If stories also make sure to explicitly kill Spider-Man.

Probably the best episode yet. Marvel isn't afraid to get weird with Dr. Strange. Really look forward to MoM more and more.
