ultimately I think it’s different. Mysterio leaking Spider-Man’s identity isn’t an “absolute point.” Neither was Strange’s girlfriend saying yes to going instead of saying no. Those would just be “nexus point” events in tva terms. If Mysterio’s henchman decided not to release Peter’s identity, that simply would have created a new nexus event that the TVA likely would have destroyed. The reason Strange’s girlfriend’s nexus event decision did not result in a nexus event is because it led to an apocalypse, which doesn’t register on TVA. And the reason dr strange trying to save his gf is called an “absolute” is because the only reason he became a magic user is because she died, thus he only uses magic if she dies, this if she doesn’t die, he doesn’t learn magic which means he couldn’t go back in time to save her. It’s the same thing that happened in The Time Machine movie, like literally, dude only succeeds in making a time machine because his wife dies and so he can’t ever save his wife because the universe will not allow that paradox to exist. Thus, if it’s actually managed, the universe is destroyed.
The reason this spell likely even is able to work now I’m Peter’s case and not instantly be TVAd or apocalypsed is because 1) it doesn’t create a paradox, 2) the TVA isnt on the same opporendum to keep the Sacred Timeline, or 3) is supposed to happen according to the Sacred Timeline per the infinity war time travel shenanigans.

Loved the Zombieland and Futurama references. I liked the team that formed during the episode, it gave a lot of good characters a time to shine without the "main" cast. Also:

SHUT UP SCOTT. Dunno Ant Man was grating on my nerves. Only thing i didn't enjoy.

Weakest episode for me by a lot. Spidey's intro video with Sharon's specialty being giving eulogies had me dying though.

Probably my least favorite episode. I generally like zombie stuff. Some fun jokes but eh. More Chadwick Boseman was a nice surprise though.

It was the ending that ruined it. Not because it was “dark,” but because it was abrupt and it robbed the others of any closure, even if it was them failing and dying. I liked the Spider-Man home video in the moment, but afterward I think it pushed the tone into too jokey (and antman really pushed it way too far beyond that). Woulda enjoyed no zombie tutorial video, less Lang lines, and maybe a little bit more of them getting to Wakanda, managing to get through the barrier, then finding out Wakanda was overrun by zombies on the inside too, and they all die. And THEN Thanos arrives with all the stones but the Mind Stone. And then you could cut to zombie infinity gauntlet Thanos.

This one was fine and was a cool direction for how things went.

I guess what I can't get past is characters doing things far out of character even for an alternate universe.

That and there is a lot of leaps in logic to make some of these episodes work. To a point where it takes me out of it. This episodes felt it more prominently.

This is a great way to sum it up. Tony in particular is way out of character as is T'Chaka. Killmonger and Pepper are literally the only consistent characters.

Most everything in this universe required a huge suspension of disbelief.

I don't know, I think T'Chaka was in character. Man just lost his son and suddenly the nephew from the brother he had to kill years earlier appears, I can see his reaction being accurate here.

My only issue with the episode is that it all felt like one long "Just as planned" meme with how everything fell into place.

Midseason trailer is out and it’s like 80% a recap on what we have already seen but it does have new footage that answered my main lingering question. You can see it if you watch in slow motion...

There WILL be a multiverse Avengers team up. They splice between the OG Avengers circling hero shot and mix it with our new heroes. Looks like the multiverse Avengers will be Black Widow (from an episode not yet seen), Captain Carter, Gamora, Thor, T’Challa/Star Lord, and Doctor Strange. Interestingly enough it appears to be the Evil Dr Strange we saw in episode 4. Maybe he found a way out after all.
