Gamora felt veeeeeeery tacked on last minute, had pretty much no backstory or development to speak of. Overall though I really liked it. I think they left open enough to do a season 2 if they wanted.

His purpose was to remove the stones from the body as Strange said, so they could be locked into a time prison.

Each Guardian served a purpose. Gamora was there to stall for time and create overconfidence in Ultron. T'Challa because he's agile and likely could steal a stone and to act as a catalyst for Killmonger. Killmonger because he was always going to serve his own interests and his universe would lose the least, Carter because she was strong and selfless and likely to convince Natasha to help, and Natasha because of her motivation and having Zola (also he came from her universe). Thor is powerful but also reckless and so would have been able to attract Ultron's attention in the first place, and Supreme Strange possessed not only the power to rival Ultron but the wisdom to realize what that responsibility means now.

Gamora and Tony definitely seemed rushed, but otherwise, the episode was a goodie. Final fight was awesome.

Ya but they also want to keep all the shows at a steady pace.

It's really the perfect D+ subscription retaining model. Put in a brand that people love capable of telling a 100 different stories and keep pumping out shows every month or two.

The fact they made the infinity stones “multiversal” just made it look extra stupid. The Watcher and Nega Strange made it that much more dumb when he used his own time stone.

So you hate it because the stones aren’t restricted to their own universe like in the comics?

For me, what took me out of it the most aside from Gamora shoe-in, was the watcher not helping. He already fought. He already interfered by bringing these people together. His Xanatos gambit doesn’t track either, as his “seen it all, know it all” doesnt work on Ultron, as established in the last episode.
That being said, I did enjoy the finale, though it certainly needed to be longer so more could have been put in. I know that’s not what this was, but maybe at least 1 hour episode so we could get some team-conflict in instead of just 1 or 2 throw away lines.

What does that even mean though? Different timelines is a different universe. I mean, one of those universes ended up with no Thanos, thats a huge ass change.

I mean yeah it doesn't seem very consistent. But in Loki different timelines definitely don't seem to be different universes.

The way I understood Loki and the sacred timeline is that the multiverse definitely already existed but everything was headed towards Immortus's Kang-free future so it didn't matter. Only the universes where things went off the rails in a way where the end result would diverge from that (i.e.; Loki kills Thor) got pruned.
