I might get some use out of it if it proves to be a reliable service since I don't have a data cap (yet). I feel for the people who do tho, they won't be able to use this much if they also use Netflix, Youtube, etc.

Elon Musk has to finish his satellites
I use comcast and there is no way this would be viable for me with the shit data caps for sure
Comcast rolled out data caps like 2 years ago here in South Florida (after we had none) just streaming Netflix/Crunchyroll/etc., I hit the cap every month. Thankfully they increased the data cap 4-5 months later and now I don't even get close but I imagine with Stadia, I would definitely hit the data cap again unless I wanna pony up an extra $30 a month to get the uncapped service.
Chromecast Ultra is $60
Rando google controller - $30 ( DS4 for 45 ). Google are selling them standalone for $70 but yeah
Destiny 2 bundle is $40 on pc now ( steam )
$130 for $130 worth of stuff. Google says it's worth $300.. not sure how the fuck they work that one out.
Year 1 and 2 might be worth a subscription as they try and build the service, much like PSN+ was decent for the first year or two before getting crappier.
Maybe though they think google is big enough they don't have to bother and they can go straight into garbage.
I guess it depends on what months 2/3 are as to if there's really any value here, but I suspect it's going to be similar slightly older AAA titles from big publishers that either are not selling anymore or just were not very good games on release. ( So I guess month 2 is anthem? ), the same way humble monthly is shit now.
With rando controller you cant use stadia without it being on a PC. Need to use stadia controller otherwise. My bestbuy has the ultra for 70, but if I drive 15min I can maybe get it for 60. Even so, it's a subscription anyways, so those three months included and you're getting 150 worth of Google items for 130.
Get Packed - Developed by Moonshine Studios - 2020
Packing up your stuff has never been this difficult...and fun! Prepare for the ultimate co-op game with ridiculous physics and up to four player carnage.
Gylt - Developed by Tequila Works (RiME/Sexy Brutale) - 2019
Introducing Gylt, a haunting single player puzzle adventure game where you must help Sally navigate a surprising world in the search for her missing cousin Emily.
Enter the new creation from Tequila Works, a journey where you face your worst fears and are confronted with the emotional impact of your actions.
Set in a creepy and melancholic world, Gylt is an eerie story mixing fantasy and reality in a surrealist place where your nightmares become reality.
Hide from terrible creatures or confront them as you find your way through the challenges of this wicked world.
My biggest concern with this is Google's willingness to just axe products and services that perform below expectations.
Lots of people tout the fear of losing access to digital games if the service dies, but here it feels like a very valid concern given Google's history and that there's no locally stored data (which could be crackable like in the past with GFWL)

Funny that you should mention playing on pc or random android/ios tablet... the launch video showed pick up and play on pc and mobile, which was cool for people where 4g/5g could let them play on a commute/lunch hour/friends house/vacation/job that involves a lot of hotel stays and travelling and resume saves which is a cool idea.
Chrome version not coming until 2020 and mobile version restricted to pixel 3 and pixel 3a, so basically only usable on chromecast ultra+stadia controller until they release.
One of the best things steam ever did was the controller compatibility and mapping.... if google thinks hardware locking people to their controller instead of providing mass controller support is a good idea, making your content more accessible rather than restricted would've been a lot smarter.

I don't think it's hardware locking as much as it is infrastructure and usability is not where it needs to be yet. At the very least, you can use any controller on your PC, just like steam. As long as your receiver is in a PC near the controller, you can stream to whatever device you want. The big problem honestly is that a BT controller probably adds more latency than this wifi ting they've done.
I can't say I'm super into playing a ton of games on it, but I am super interested in seeing the scalable GPU things in action. Imagining games that blow two crossfired/SLI cards out of the water at 4k/60fpps has me interested.

PC client ( chrome ) isn't out on release - sometime next year, so currently your ONLY option is chromecast ultra+stadia controller, ( or be a pixel owner+stadia controller )
So even if you want the free tier, you have to buy their $70 controller. ( for now ).
You'd think a company with the resources google have would be up to speed on launch for this.
The free tier+ any xb/ps4/pc controller and some free games at launch would get a lot of people to test it, maybe they want to take it a bit slower but it seems like a mistake.
MS and Sony are pushing their own streaming services hard now to stifle google as well ( MS reportedly bringing the whole back catalogue to Xbox cloud - watch e3 for news ).
Where are you seeing that chrome isn't coming until 2020? The only thing I've seen mention 2020 is the base access, which is where you buy an individual game full price. At launch, stadia will work on all devices advertised.
And you can use your PC controller if you're playing on PC, so your concern is covered. I much prefer not being tethered to my PC, and something like this would let me play those games in any room of the house at a much better quality than steamlink offered.
They're being little dicks about it and releasing mobile apps for android and iOS, but only pixel 3/a can actually play them at launch. I'm sure this will change later though.
I'm still skeptical about the whole thing, but I'm also willing to test out the Pixel 3 aspect when it's available outside the Founder's pack. Not into paying ahead of time at this point.
As far as supported games Division 2, Assassin's Creed, and BL3 are interesting to me. The others I already own, played, or don't have interest in.
Destiny 2 being cross save and all expansions to date, along with being able to play anywhere with a TV and internet, might make me jump on just to dick around with people on my friends list I see on that game often.
I will say this much, I'm keeping my faith in it tempered, but holy fuck if it works out, not having to lug around a 2 ton 17 inch alienware laptop whenever I travel to Australia would be really fucking nice.
They still haven't commented on the "up to" 8 frames of input lag. If you're playing across the same platform with others, then that is a little more acceptable, but it's going to be noticable in crossplay.
