Honestly if they don't like it they should just move.
Honestly if they don't like it they should just move.
yikesSo, we start with the conclusion that racism must be present but difficult to see & then we look for it & then we find it.
It's very much a form of magical thinking. Reading into things for precisely the kind of significance one wants and then finding one's beliefs justified. This is why we called this approach "grievance studies" because its purpose is to start with a grievance & find cause for it.
Given this kind of mentality, of course dogs will be a tool of white supremacy. Everything is. Everything. No matter where you are or what you're doing, if you're in a place where humans of various races are, you will be able to spot white supremacy.
she's describing most of you so yeah of course you think it's a yikes
Guys racism and white supremeacy stop existing if you stop looking for it.
but really in general black folk do not fuck with dogs at all and barely believe cats exist it's wild. when i was a wee lad running through the big bad LA projects it was a p jarring cultural shift how most Mexican families had a dog and barely any black families did.
perhaps there is some middle ground between racism doesnt exist and dogs are racist
So I googled the chick's name and the first results related to it are post modernism and feminism good god well at least work is slow for now.

i had to know that is wild, x3 ownership of doge for white american compared to black american. Asians don't run with them either i assume because they've been meal in their cultures for so long / the whole unclean animal thing kinda dampens the pet aspect.
i think she's part of that group that submitted the fake peer review journals like rewritten mein kampf etc and they got approved, i think they even had one about dog park sex ironically enough

finally a metric where Latinos out-assimilate Asians
That's the gist of what I'm getting from the thread. (Mind you I can't see the youtube videos she's linking to right now. I'm pulling this shit up on threadreader just to view the plain text and any images I'd have to reupload to bg bucket)
I'd have to do more digging on what this woman is about because a quick google search doesn't do much to enlighten me except for the fact that she unironically reads quilette.
I will say this line of thought is kinda standing out to me.
I'm taking it in as "I can only read this stuff in short bursts otherwise I'm liable in believing it myself".Although this perception of the world is counterintuitive and most people do not think this way, there is something very simple & appealing about it once you've grasped it which allows people to feel they are doing good by detecting & calling out racism everywhere.
I can only read this stuff in short bursts and then I need to think about something else because otherwise it infects my perception of the world & how I see my fellow humans. They stop being individuals & become clusters of identity factors embedded within a power structure.
it aint all that deep
