1 game seems weak considering it was a blindside headshot, but Anderson wasnt hurt and the league is pretty consistent in their “the results dictate the punishment” approach.

Not sure what he said thats wrong. They gutted their draft picks to make a push, swept a team who put up one of the best records in modern history in the first round, only to get eliminated in the 2nd round.

I think it would be fine to let them be proud that they made it this far. I watch the Scott Van Pelt show on ESPN pretty regularly and he has brought this up several times in the past couple weeks. "Can you have a successful season without winning your sports championship?" He says yes. I agree. So to say that to the media I think damages your teams morale going forward and would definitely piss me off as a fan. Did you see the last minute of the game? The fans were still cheering, "CBJ! CBJ!" And gave them a standing ovation after the game. It would have been better to here him say something nice for a change like, "Well we played hard but I think we can do better next season." yadda yadda

The jets got swept out of the first round a few years ago and the fans went nuts when the fourth game ended cheering for their team just having played a good season. I think for some teams you can have a successful season without winning the championship but that only applies to a handful at most. Columbus is definitely a team that over achieved and would be on that list imo.
