I'm 20 miles away and the smoke was awful at my house on Saturday and Sunday.

Ongoing slow structural failure in midtown Manhattan. Apparently started this morning and those pictures are yikes.
Lots of neighboring buildings evacuated

How does that even happen, wow.
Don't see it mentioned, or maybe it's really deep in, but the renovation was adding 16 additional floors on top of the building. The building is the old Pfizer HQ.
Jesus the amount of force needed to bend the beams like this...I don't wanna be there when they eventually collapse

Randomly falling bricks off skyscrapers is fucking terrifying
As an ironworker, seeing them call columns(vertical supports) beams(horizontal members) is irrationally annoying me.
My prediction is a controlled demo of the building, assuming they can stabilize the area with some kind of shoring. But I'd be shocked if anyone is allowed back in that area in the next month
