but nah yeah i've never played with karmic dice on, kinda anodynes the game when you get rid of the highest highs and the lowest lows. tho i have seen that post, guy overstates it because he powergamed to get an AC most players never will and the flattened dice hurt his min-max build more than it would a regulah build. but Larian did say it was bugged, dunno if they ever fixed it.

so, question about "point of no return" in the first act

I just hit the mountain pass and it says "blah blah make sure you did everthing you want to do before you proceed etc."

so basically my question is, with minimal possible spoilers, if I continue exploring and stuff will the parasite evolve? the game was giving off a strong "get that parasite out soon or you'll turn into a mindflayer" vibes but I have so much to explore in the first act still, and I don't think I'm close to ready for the mountain pass yet. what do?

Through about 4 or 5 hours into act III, I've only seen two time sensitive quests, and that is not one of them

There is the trapped person in some rubble in act 1 and a quest for someone being out in the wilderness in act 2

you can safely clean up all of Act 1 before proceeding to 2 without that particular bit progressing

like Kran side that timed stuff is actually p rare

I don't think Act 1 really has any true "point of no return" moments other than the big decision of whether you want to go evil or not. You can go back to find things you missed np. It will warn you if you're about to enter the final areas of the act because those are level 5/6ish and will be very difficult if you go there too early.

Act 2 the game will very clearly warn you that you're about to trigger a major event when you reach the big storyline moment.

Ok looked up something about points of no return.

In act 2 once you get the big warning, completing the event there will block you out from returning to Act 1 areas.

Going to act 3 will similarly block out all Act 2 areas.
