My friends and I have been doing a slow evil run. It's still annoying that there aren't too many replacement evil quests for all the sidequests you lose out on by being evil

Just don't be a murder hobo, you can be actually evil and manipulate people to your own desires and get cash out of them etc etc. I do though agree that doing genocides should at least give you some new quests and NPCs or something and rewards that are semi comparable to saving the tieflings and such
Also just started act 3. Question
Spoiler: show
Only as part of the ending
So be it. Price of power I guess
Will using an appearance only mod like that fuck anything up when I do multiplayer?
Doubtful, it would just be a texture swap mod
Watching the credits roll.
Let Gale end it for us at Act 2. I honestly don't know what I expected.
It autosaves right before you enter the room so I'll try again but TECHNICALLY that's a win for me.

Watched the recent Swen interview. Some takeaways specifically about the future of the game that I remember:
-He's already hard at work on his next game
-They might add more endings for some characters but don't expect much
-Bug fixes still coming
-DLC isn't planned and it won't increase level cap if it does happen. 12-20 would be "an entirely different type of game".
-If DLC does happen it also won't necessarily be near the end of the game. He made a point to mention that there's many ways that DLC can be added if it is added.
There was stuff in there about the dev process and how the game has changed DnD etc etc but it's not relevant enough for me to list. If you care the video is on the main DnD youtube channel.
Well, there is this option too, which I think I'll go mostly for on my "evil" play-through:
https://old.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate..._possible_for/
in general i'm mostly disappointed with how RPGs, even great ones, approach evil. usually it's morality tourism, do increasingly fucked up things that make teenage boys do the OHHHH youtube reaction face, with about as much depth as killing hookers and going on rampages in GTA. now i enjoy going on a hooker killing rampage with the best of em, but evil playthroughs usually play out as dark fantasy entertainment.
i want fewer murder hobos rule evil playthroughs and more towering tragedies evil playthroughs. if you're gonna let me be Tony Montana show the price of it, the pain and isolation and corruption and say goodnight to the bad guy, if we ascend to Michael Corleone heights show the door closing on Kay, the bullet hitting Mary. very rarely will an evil videogame playthrough hit the storytelling highs we see all the time in movies/novels/etc presenting evil narratives.
Tyranny did a bang up job in presenting a nuanced portrayal of different gradations of evil, given 6 dialogue options 5 of them are evil, but all in different competing, compelling ways. Disco Elysium as well with its fascist playthrough where it portrays sympathetically and tragically what could lead someone to an unforgivable and unjustifiable belief system.
BG3 does aight as far as evil goes, it's definitely entertaining in the murdered hookers sense, but as you say mechanically you lose out on a bunch of content, and thematically it doesn't reach the level a good playthrough does.
Finally in Act 3. Got Halsin and Jaheira both to stick around, I hear there's one more recruit in the city. I guess I can't expect Aylin and Isobel to actually contribute to fights after I wrecked the big bone daddy but they are hanging out in camp.
Did all the Shadowheart stuff so now she's out for revenge against Shar, and Karlach has got the major mad on for Gortash.
I really liked the Lich and Swarm That Walks paths in WotR for ebilness
Spoiler: show
i did a lich run, was a lot of fun, but ultimately just a grander version of dead hookers. WotR writing in general maxes out at solid but nothin special
Always seemed to be a bit of grinding of gears between the main story and evil mythic paths, companions will still happily chat you up and be all buddy buddy on quests until they throw out some reaction to a mythic choice when they suddenly remember you're a monster before going back to being amiable again.
If I replay I'll make sure I have Wyll and Karlach with me instead, they seem much more relevant to another quest down there.
