New patch coming out.
Crossplay and 12 new subclasses. Wtf Larian.
I only started to play this recently, because I heard they were done updating the game, which meant I could experience its "final" version, I guess not...
Man, you suck Larian!
J/k
Wut, the game has 12 classes, not 9
Don't mind me, just casually forgetting a quarter of the classes.
Most of those subclasses are actually really exciting, and things that should have been in the game from the start...
PATCH 8 TTTTOOOOOOMORRRRRROWWWWWWWWWW
12 new subclasses droppin, photo mode, crossplay, some new spells. think i'll start a new Honor Mode run and try to finish er this time after stalling out last year. thinkin Hexblade, multi into vengeance paladin or bladesinger and shadow sorcerer or eldritch knight not sure. somethin silly. me tomorrow:

Trying to decide what I wanna do. I really wanted bladesinger but my OG run was wizard so I feel like I should do something else.
Maybe Hexblade Warlock
I'm curious to see how they end up doing Hexblade because it felt like they rolled a lot of the Hexblade features into the base Warlock kit.
Giant looks fucking fun. SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Karlach giant barb muscle mommy finna be the most gooned subclass in the game's history (it'showi'mbuildinghertoo)
Well, 652 hours played is about to increase to over 800 easily.
Can someone please greenlight this as an actual series; just not Netflix...
they knew what they were doing with that Karlach shot
also i'm going Dragonborn resist durge hexblade and dios mio what garbage racials lmao. gotta be worst in game. ah well roleplaying > min-maxing, but woulda been nice if they got the 2024 update.
I am doing wood half elf good durge hexblade :O
hexblade is DISGOOSTIN
by level 5 you can upcast shadow blade for 3D8 + charisma without needing concentrate meaning you can hex/elemental weapon on top of it for +1d4/6, stack with hexblade curse for +proficiency damage, and get advantage in all low light and darkness areas, which is half the game, or just cast magical darkness and get the invocation Devil's Sight so you can see clearly in it while everyone else is blinded.
ain't even counting the +psychic damage/psychic vulnerability business you can get fugghedaboudit
giant barb with tavern brawler is also sick, Karlach is doing a tonna damage with her thrown weapon bonuses getting double applied strength + rage bonuses. plus she can throw/kick everyone back into the hexblade darkness death pit.
and Shadowheart proving a lot less silly while being thematically straight speccing out of trickster domain to death domain
Is there even a challenge anymore? The base game wasn't that difficult unless you modded it to be so but at least made you think during a good amount of fights.
wellllll honor mode adds legendary actions for all bosses and sub-bosses which require additional thought and nerfs both action economy and damage riders to bring down DPS decently
i'm not the biggest min-maxer, everyone stays thematically classed and no silly multiclass dips, but most fights are still fairly simple if you know the systems/5E builds. that said i did just get ambushed by the spectator in the Underdark and have to skedaddle to save the run as it slaughtered most of my team
