I wish I had the time to give this game a fair shake

Resist D.Urge will probably be the patch 8 playthrough I do as well since I've only done full evil, but I also haven't done any origin stories. Gale has never gotten much play in my games and Astarion has never made it past trying to bite me in the night... so maybe one of those two will be interesting.
Astarion is worth, yes. Gale is just boring but mages are always useful.
Idk the origin stories never interested me much. I wanna be me, not a premade char.
Gale is boring as fuck but wizards are super useful and my first playthrough was wizard so I think I may have to use him this time around
I think Gale's endings are actually some of the more interesting ones.
As a character he's just your classic too smart for his own good wizard who thinks he's different from all the other wizards that were too smart for their own good. But he has some interesting choices at the end.
i actually like Gale a lot tho he isn't the greatest of the companions, goofy ass failson. current party is Astarion, Lae'zel, and Karlach as i didn't rock with any of them first playthrough.
and i'll go to my deathbed saying Resist Durge is the best origin/roleplay/narrative in the game among all available options.
Made it to the 3rd Act! Final part of Act 2 was a bit frustrating with back the back battles but it was worth it eventually….man apart from Karlach and Gale the Badass my accuracy is shit. My party is Karlach, Shadowheart, Gale and myself (ranger).
Wow @ “the” city, it is super exciting. I made it there at 1 am and went so sleep…you know the feeling, it is waiting to be explored rn. I am hoping for some good places to shop for new gear especially for my ranger, quality wise he had fallen a bit behind others who’ve grabbed some impressive loot from bosses, etc.
I was having a chat with a buddy towards the end of Act 3 and realized that I’ve actually missed Lae’zelI don’t know what happened or why, but she is not in my party and looks like there is no way to recruit her at this point.
Gives an extra motivation for a second playthrough I guess.
I just recently came back to this, having stopped after Act 2 final boss for a while, right now I'm pretty deep into Act 3 already and yeah, shops in he city have quite a lot of nice stuff, although prices will sometimes make your eyes water, lol
Awesome! I’ve been hoarding some gold, hopefully have enough for a new bow at least.

HBO is developing Baldur’s Gate, a drama series based on Wizards of the Coast’s video game franchise, with Mazin attached to create, write, executive produce and showrun the TV adaptation. Also exec producing are Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor and Hasbro Entertainment’s Gabriel Marano. Chris Perkins, the former longtime Head of Story at Hasbro subsidiary Wizards of the Coast, which is behind the D&D game universe, will serve as consultant.
Unlike HBO’s The Last Of Us, which retold the story from the PlayStation games, the Baldur’s Gate TV series will be a continuation to the games, telling a story that takes place immediately after the events of Baldur’s Gate 3, as the characters — old and new — are dealing with the ramifications of the events in the third game.
Idk if I want a sequel to the game in tv form lol

Larian Studios isnt even involved, this is going to be weapons grade dogshit.
Edit: Though I guess he did do The Last of Us series, so maybe I can give him some degree of credit. But I believe the creators of TLOU were involved in that series. Either way its certainly a mixed bag here depending on how much faith you put into Mazin.
Making a game is not the same as making a TV show or movie. If you tried to just lift the script from the game, for just one type of play through, the first area alone would probably be 3+ seasons, so you need a different viewpoint. For a show about zombie apocalypse, The Last of Us has pointedly few zombie scenes, and the game's writers were involved. Not sure it did the show any favors in the end.
Mazin made an all time series of TV in Chernobyl and The Last of Us season 1 was quite good, 2 only decent, but his talents aside they are going to invalidate so much player agency by giving canon endings to basically anyone that shows up
i'm not that troubled by Larian not being involved tbh, Bioware wasn't involved with 3 u know and it turned out peaches, i just don't know how you properly adapt an open-ended choice driven RPG like this. just make an original Forgotten Realms show you bums
Feel like the best thing is to not make the ending they chose the like, Lore accurate ending or whatever, but rather it just be the ending they chose for the show. No more or less valid than any option in the game, just come out saying its the direction you chose for writing purposes.
Even with the myriad of choices and outcomes BG3 has available, it's still only one self-contained story per play-through, and even within those choices, you can't alter the core story that happens. It's no different with a TV show in that one regard; they make choices, it plays out, and it eventually ends. What's important is the writing, acting, and direction.
So long as the main character fucks Shadowheart (and I get to watch), I'm cool

And if Shadowheart could be played by Anya-Taylor Joy *chefs kiss*

I don't know if this will even see the light of day. Might be in development hell forever. If it does come out. Yikes it's going to be bad.
Also if WotC is directing the creative decisions of the story, which they probably are, it'll probably be the worst decisions in the game. They ruined a bunch of shit in the BG lore way after BG2 came out through books and the like.
