But it makes sense. Aside from magic force powers, literally no weapon in the universe would equal the power of the mass of a spaceship hitting you at lightspeed. The only thing more broken is 10,000 star destroyers all equipped with planet destroying cannons /eyeroll

It makes sense for physics I'm saying that it's probably a reason not to permit it to work under your universe's take on light speed because it alters all rules of warfare. Like why even have planet destroying lasers. Ram a heavy enough light speed ship into a planet and you effectively nuclear winterize it.

Nuclear winter too slow for compliance. Destroy the planet and the next one will behave.

Yeah he actually did die and they gave an explanation for his revival that worked in pre-established lore of the world.

Every other character who spoke to Rey was dead, so it's a stretch to say Ahsoka is the one exception.

It kinda feels like Filoni doesn't want someone else to dictate Ahsoka's fate when he's been the main author of her story.

And even if Filoni writes a story with her post RoS, it's gonna feel like a cop-out.

Something else I don’t understand about StarWars, why did everyone think that bringing balance to the force meant destroying the Sith? Wouldn’t that make the force completely one-sided?

Its not supposed to be a balance between light and dark. The Sith Are the imbalance because they use the force in fucked up ways.

The trilogy sucks cause they dont make this clear at all. I thought it was an eternal struggle because good and evil, light and dark. So long as light shines, darkness would cast a shadow; so long as darkness remained, light would rise up to challenge it. That was the entire point of TLJ, until it got retconned with "you're not important unless you have a great last name"

Balance to the Force can also be interpreted as between the living and the cosmic Force. The majority of the Jedi teachings during the prequels focused on the cosmic Force. Only Qui-Gon studied the living Force, which is why he unlocked the secret of the Force ghost.

The puritanical aspects of the Jedi, such as no attachments, derive largely from their over-adherence to this. Whereas the Sith represent not just evil, but chaos and impulse.

Saw it on christmas. Thought it was okay. The dialogue during some parts was just terrible. I burst out laughing when Hux shot the dudes and then just blurted "IM THE SPY!!!!" as others have complained the lack of character development for the new chicks was shit. Why even bother.

My biggest gripe was that there were no stakes. All the excitement and drama of the deaths became non-existent since it was all fakeouts. And I really do not understand the power levels of the force, it was annoyingly up and down. So Palpy can shoot his lightning load into the air and disable ALL THOSE FUCKING aircrafts but two lightsabers from a weakened Rey and that's what does it? lolok

I need to stop thinking about it cuz I'm asking why too much with a bunch of the shit in the movie

Nah you're not asking too much. They just said fuck it and went full fan service cause they dont want to make another movie for awhile. TLJ tried adding nuance and sense to the universe but clearly the nerd money is elsewhere.

This has been a thing at least since the prequels.

And Luke says otherwise when he said the Jedi dont own any of it. It's all natural. Even Ben says as much in TROS when he says there are those drawn to the darkness. The series was turning into a story of good vs evil, right vs wrong choices, and instead it reverted to the same old boring ass "your family is important, but this one is too!".

Ben even admits hes drawn to the darkness, before choosing to not embrace evil and turning back to the good side, even if he commanded the darkness within him. The story just got so boring in TROS when they decided to double down on the "actually none of you matter all that's important is a Skywalker saves the day, even an adopted one".

The midichlorians(sp) are what creates the force, I don't think there was any other explanation beyond that. I think George had an idea for some cosmic entity controlling everything but it was never realized.

Been saying the same thing for ages.

There's actually a recent interview with Freddie Prinze Jr. (voiced Kanan in Rebels) where he says that's how Lucas explained the Force to Filoni.

The more I think about the movie, the more I think it's shit. Such mishandled trash.

I did enjoy a bit of this movie. And not so much about some of it. Seeing the ghost so much actually bothered me a bit.
