It sucks dick that you can't pause this game while in single player.

Welcome to Dark Souls brother
Because Sekiro had no multiplayer content at all.
This is just how any of these games that have any multiplayer act.
Probably dumb question, but I started off as a Confessor and it says I have a healing spell? I guess I can't use it until I find a wand?
You should have the Finger Seal in one of your weapon slots, switch to that with your dpad to use spells
the AI invaders are fuckin beasts in this game, or at least the ones in caelid and the damn mage jerk in liurnia are
The one in the hub kicked my butt until like 20 hours in. I finallllly got him down. Basically the first few I fought were complete jerks that sucked hard but I did find a few later where I went "oh ok, that wasn't so bad" but of course they kind of start you with the hard ones....
I was just running around tagging some graces and got rolled by some undead chain wielding woman on a mobility scooter.
Fun.
If you find yourself short of arrows, SW of Church of Pilgrimage(Weeping Peninsula), area between the Church and Tombsward ruins is awesome for farming bones. 3 large packs with grace placed right beside conveniently.
In about 5-7 mins you can gather enough bones for 100 arrows.
At 30th hour and just finished with the Stormveil castle. Time to call it a day, can't wait to explore the new area but likely going to go back to finish some catacombs in the old one before diving deeper.
About Stormveil boss...tough but not so "fair". I did notice how he becomes "invincible" and how you start swinging to void during the entire animation when he starts the grab move to the companion all while you get quad-attacked and one shot-ed during healing animation against almost every boss out there.
enemies in this game seem to know when you’re healing and are like “nah”
There's a boss in Altus Plateau that absolutely has that in their AI, every time you pull out a flask they'll shoot a projectile at you
Yep, some are programmed specifically to do so. This is most noticeable and easily testable against Weeping Peninsula Evergaol boss due to the nature of the fight. He patiently waits for an opening and the moment you reach for your flask he charges. Best to put some distance before attempting to heal.
Maybe all intelligent bosses are designed to do so to some degree, its just that most simply overwhelm you with sheer aggression so its a bit harder to test.
holy fuck are there a lot of bonfires in this game, it almost feels like it takes away from whatever gauntlet run previously done. Go through like 3 rooms and bam bonfire.
I really do not enjoy the Radahn fight.
Cool idea but awful execution
There's supposedly a mod that allows you to pause the game, but you have to play offline (which it sounds like you're ok with)
Looks like it's this one https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/43
Adding Easy Anti Cheat in a game where they explicitly toned down the multiplayer aspect was certainly a choice.
Was probably just a quick and easy bandaid for the security flaws instead of actually you know... having a functional netcode
