Y'all acting like they're doing us some favor, this shit cost $40 lol. It better be full on expansion sized!
Can't wait. Gotta load up the old save so I can remember how to play

It is kinda wild how much expectations have dropped for $40 lol.
ballin ass art deserves to be appreciated, but to the point that's the thing, it's shaping up to be well over twice the size of their previous expansions while being twice the price. kinda like how Elden Ring cost what Dark Souls 3 did but had twice the content (which scales even more wildly when inflation means the $60 we spent ten years ago is worth $80 today).
can't count no chickens but 10+ bosses and 100 new weapons is a crazy amount of content. think it's shaping up to crush their previous DLC which was consistently $20 for 8-10 hours (and some of the best work they ever did).
Intention: Let me co-op Mohg, help people prep for DLC, and freshen up the ol' gameplay.
Reality: The opposite of jolly cooperation by being an absolute liability that remembers nothing lol
i need to jump back in and dink around for a while too, i dont wanna get railed too hard. i also dont remember which damn characters i have mohg cleared on whoops
These damn games need a "coming back after a while" tutorial/trial lol. knowing how Souls games don't like handholding I wouldn't be surprised if the game puts you in the middle of hell as a starting point and warms you up by getting your ass kicked.
Digital preorders are a bit silly but I went ahead and pre ordered it, I am almost 100% sure that I will not regret this purchase. There are only a handful of expansion packs that truly expand the game dramatically and this is one of it.
Oh and Ps4 is 11 years old and its getting a release like this, one heck of a lifespan.
Your post made me actually google if Elden Ring had in fact been released on PS4. That was surprising.
Fun Fact the PS4 pro version runs way better on PS5 than the native PS5 version despite being nearly identical.
leak/fake leak season has begun. there’s a funny video going around of the leaked “final boss” which is almost assuredly fake but be careful out there. if you’re curious the video has the final boss being. the video quality is total shit and looks like a mod so it’s probably safe to assume it’s bullshitSpoiler: show
anyway i have my level 150 ice nagakiba build ready and waiting at the entrance. didn’t access farum azula after killing the fire giant to keep melina alive for the first playthrough, and didn’t kill malenia either
I decided to roll with the Sword of Night and Flame/sorcery build I used when the game first released.
Sword got nerfed pretty hard since release but it's still the most enjoyable to me and since it seems like level doesn't really matter for the DLC the character being 177 shouldn't matter
because of the leveling system that’s tied to the dlc most people think the only stat that really matters is vigor, followed by whatever stats you need for your weapon (plus upgrades I guess)
All the stats will still matter for your scaling and equipment/casting requirements. The new scaling system is just basically a damage debuff that you receive vs DLC enemies that you can remove over time. Don't skimp your stats!
Yeah I'm sure going with a level 177 character will make it easier, but I'm not necessarily "ruining" the experience by going with an over leveled character compared to most other Souls-ish DLCs
Yeah they thought about it this time. If you go out of your way to remove the curse you'd probably steamroll bosses but you can just never remove the curse and go in as Miyazaki intended
Sidenote, jumping back on that character to just get a feel for the play style again made me realize I had missed a memory stone and the explosive ghostflame spell
I made a character and capped them at 80 for the DLC. Killed everything up to before Maliketh. Didn't want to originally do Farum until after the DLC, but did want the smithing bell for DLC weapons. We went heavy bonk. 60VIG, 20END, 31STR, 10DEX. Radaseal gives me the DEX for the weapon.
Boc accidentally died, btw. >.>
Spoke to him at Leyndell, and didn't give the tear. Went to get the item to tell him he's a cutepie, and when I went back he was gone. Found him outside Rennala's room, just dead. Didn't even know he could move to outside the room and die. Only thing I did differently on this playthrough, was that after speaking to him in Leyndell, I did zone into Haligtree.
I just realised I would need to check where my character is progress wise, I remember I was going for the platinum and rushing the endings last I think so my last playthrough might be without necessary progress. Still, I decided to not get it before Dawntrail, as I got SMTV and probably won't even be able to finish that in time
94% average on Opencritic, pretty good I guess
seeing some reviews that say it’s much bigger than limgrave sizewise and most estimates are around 40ish hours to clear all content. a couple reviews had full completion of all content at 50-60 hours as well
hell yeah
