took down Bayle and Messmer last night
gonna be honest: i summoned igon for the lore
for Messmer i didn’t think he was that bad. took around 30min worth of tries i would say. had one move in phase 2 i couldn’t reliably dodge but the time i beat him was an ass whooping, still had 10 flasks left i think
for me the hardest bosses so far have been rellana andSpoiler: show
I'll summon most of the gold signs first time through in case they're needed for quest progress. Igon definitely the best one.
Your worst boss seemed like it had very low HP to me. I learned none of its moves but it still fell to my Sunflower bonks on second attempt.. might have just found it with more blessings than intended. Don't recall that specifically but I'm on 15 now.
I still have to find 2 different map sections but I'm done with the main parts (on what I assume is the last boss), worst for me is definitely still
Spoiler: show
i hated him up until i got the weird ass timing down on dodge rolling his charge
I took him down on the second try at blessing level 12.
I could see how he's annoying but greathammer with Lions Claw and I just melted him
Sounds a lot like what I said about Mert's boss, so it probably all comes down to the route you take for your blessings. That was my first detour out of Shadow Keep and I went in the back first, did him before Messmer so probably was around blessing level 6. I felt insane non-stop pressure, and if there's a trick to dodging the charge like chazzy says I never found it. If I wasn't sprinting when he started it I was getting hit 50/50.
What I figured out pretty quickly was staying close to the walls, gives you a big window (ie enough to get a Lions Claw AOW out) to punish the recovery of the charge attack after dodge rolling out.
Idk who this is, but what a great clip lol (2nd boss, wouldn't consider a spoiler at this point) https://clips.twitch.tv/GeniusVenomo...22DhBWEgZTCT_N
Clearly his mistake was healing instead of greed. Amateur move, always greed. Always.
I had started playing Dark souls for my 4 year old, with my intentions being to play through 1,2,3 then Elden Ring, doing the DLC in the playthrough, got through the three games, getting as close to 100% as you can in a single playthrough on all of them, and I played about 1 hour of Elden Ring. At the same time, he managed to get hooked on Mario (older kids playing a Mario game at our home daycare we send him to.) So now, instead of playing Elden Ring, I am replaying Mario Odyssey.
Finished DLC. Did everything at RL80. Final boss is probably the most unpleasant boss I've encountered in a Souls game, that isn't a gank boss. Final boss alone took me about 18hrs probably. Mostly because I can't see shit during the fight. Leveling would have helped immensely, but if I was going to level past the cap of 80 I set, I'd have just done the DLC on my 120 or 150 character. Cheese build with shield didn't work because stats/weight, etc.
Prob gonna replay it on my 150 character and do Backhand Blades or Light Greatsword build or something.
I just got done with Commander Gaius and I can definitely see how people would have issues on him. I'm blessing lv8 and didn't feel like dealing with his shit after like my 7th death, so I pulled out my arcane staff (I mostly use Occult Great Katana or dual Occult katanas @80 Arcane) and destroyed him with Impenetrable Thorns. Entered the fog gate, kept my back against the fog gate, dodged his opening rush and staggered him with two casts, and then killed him with the next two.
Fuck that guy lol.
made it to the final boss last night. spent about 4 hours getting my shit pushed in. need to make a build change, my trusty frost nagakiba that got me through the rest of the dlc is no longer cutting it
Haven't tried the final boss more than once yet, decided to wrap everything else first. Midra's Manse slowed me down a little, great boss fight. I officially threw in the exploration towel at Blessing 18.1, I could not for the life of me find how to get the NW map section. When I looked it up, the entrance was literally in a cave that I had already explored and cleared.... I just somehow missed that there was an exit in the golden tree room not the direction I came in. Super frustrating lol. There was a lot back there too.
Not going to bother with any other subtleties I overlooked... once I got a Scadutree fragment from a random spirit-holding-a-pot-on-its-head enemy I decided you probably weren't meant to find them all naturally. Boss dies tonight.
sounds about right, i ended up at scad level 18.2 when i made it to the final boss. at that point i had already seen the whole map so i just looked up where the 4 i missed were since it wasn’t going to spoil anything (and yes two of them were the random jar-on-head enemies)
i also missed one that was in a random enemy encampment that i know i fucking raided the shit out of early in the game, no clue how i missed it, other one was in abyssal woods
I'm at 18 and parked right outside the final boss room too. Think I did basically everything but Senessax, which just felt like an absolute cancer of a fight
