I'm just getting to the end of it now, but I think it's worth chipping away at. You go to some neat environments and some of the story beats are kinda touching.
The game also all but outright confirmsSpoiler: show
Started at 31 pity, got Diluc at 76, got Alhaitham on my next 10 pull. Took 40 more wishes to get my first Yaoyao though.
Got absolutely fucked on the weapon banner (but my luck there has been pretty great in general so I was well overdue for being brought back down to earth), got two Jade Spears at 70ish each and then the guaranteed Folier at 60ish. Down to zero primos and ~150 starglitter, so I'll just be saving all patch for Dehya now. I've still got Aranara tree wishes to get, most of the Desert underground to explore, the new area, and all the event wishes and primos, so I should be able to build back up reasonably well.
Congrats on Alhaitham! Glad you get him early on the guarantee since you got screwed on the 50/50. 95 wishes to get Yaoyao is painful and a good reminder why you shouldn't pull for 4* characters. Glad you got Folier, but sorry it cost you so much. Really wish they would drop the pity down to 2 instead of 3 since it doesn't carry over between banners.
For those with PS+, the new supply pack is out. Think it gives you a Resin and some other stuff.
gg on getting Al Haitham so quickly! I'm passing on this one, saving for Dehya and (if rumors are true) Baizhu in 3.6. will take the free YaoYao from the event and call it a day
also tfw you set up a badass DPS Lisa but didn't realize the skin comes out on 1/31![]()
Hey everyone, I've been playing Genshin Impact for a few weeks now and I have to say, I am absolutely loving it!
The Dehya leaks coming out are all disappointing af. I really hope she gets changed (for the better) during beta since it currently seems like they don't know what they're doing (she seems all over the place) or that no one can figure out (yet) how they expect us to play her. The only saving grace is that her animations look great (linked). I'll still pull for her (I'm the problem, it's me) no matter how bad she is though.

I think Mihoyo does know what they want to do with her, I just don't think players are going to like it. They definitely want her to be a bruiser-style character that soaks damage. She's got the damage transfer, a big HP pool, and a lot of poise/interruption resistance in her kit. Whether or not it ends up being a successful character type, we'll have to see. People weren't sold on Kokomi (myself included) initially but sentiment really turned around for her after some enemy type and character additions to flesh out her teams and role.
Her kit definitely does fit her "bodyguard" status pretty well though, lol.
I think you're right. I like the concept of a bruiser/tank character, but right now it isn't really something that's needed. I would love it if she was the catalyst to them adding more co-op content. Having weekly dungeon-esque domains where you can't get away with using any setup would be great. Make it so you need a healer, tank/shielder in addition to just DPS chars. Even just a co-op Abyss would be an interesting start. I love how much potential this game has and that they continue doing new things.
Some quick napkin math makes it look like she can absorb far more damage than even Zhongli's shield (his is 3389.43 + 27.2% Max HP at level 13, she absorbs 200% Max HP from what I can tell so far). but like... why? the one thing I see her doing is enabling certain hypercarries like Wanderer and Cyno who take a lot of damage and get knocked around without a shield. But again... why? There needs to be some benefit to doing this or some downside to using shields that doesn't exist yet.
honestly, this team looks cool as hell. multipliers be damned

Dehya quickly went from me really wanting her from 3.0, to not really caring now, tbh >.>
Not to shit on anybody, but it always make me laugh when people make a team out of the three best characters in the game, plus whoever they're "showcasing".
I'm still gonna gun for her regardless because she looks cool and I'm sure her kit will have a place, either now or later.
That's the thing, once you pull a few core supports pretty much any character can be made into a halfway decent DPS. people are already out here making YaoYao dps videos lol. While it would be nice if Dehya was a better dps, it hardly matters in the end. I was caught up in the doomposting for a minute but I'm over it now. She is bae and that is all that matters.
Agreed with all of the above. I don't care for these showcases when it's more of a team showcase than it is about the character. Like Yuri said, you can put most characters in Dehya's slot and get similar results. All this does is shows how she would work in that team's rotation.
For those that pulled Alhaitham, how are you liking him? I finally did the trial and he just feels weird to me.
I ended up pulling on his banner to try to get Yaoyao and I got lucky and got her in 16 pulls. (I was 0 into the 50/50 and the game hates me so I figured I could try up to 20 pulls safely). I only have her at 50 so far, but her playstyle seems fun so far.
Haven't pulled him as I don't really want/need him; also, you get a free Yoyo from the Lieyu event, so no need to pull if you don't want to C6 her.
Dehya will be fine, and unless people show off max potential, the peanut gallery can't/won't comment except to see the meta comp.
Speaking of meta, C2 Raiden, C6 Sarah, Bennet, and Ying shreds. Doing 35K autos on Raiden burst on Floor 11 abyss.
I'm still working on getting him fully ascended/level 90, but I think he's a lot of fun and very strong. His mirrors have a 2 hit ICD, his normals have their own standard ICD, and his plunge attack also has a separate ICD from his normals and charged attack. The 3 mirror strike is a ton of damage, and he's really just a Spread Machine Gun. I was worried mirror management would be a headache, but it's really pretty simple. Every two mirror strikes, do something that generates a mirror. Typically for me it looks something like Q > normals > E > normals > Charge Attack > normals > switch out once I drop 2 mirrors or get my burst back.
He does a lot of damage and looks really cool, and getting Alhaitham finally gave me an excuse to level up Kuki. Now I spend the rest of my days in the Gilded Dreams domain.
I pulled a YaoYao just because I want C1. 15% elemental damage bonus is pretty decent for a C1.
Spoiler: show
I like her a lot, although she's not great or anything. She has a job (healing + dendro app) and she does it well enough, with some potential for dps shenanigans if you build her with supports. That should be the basic bar for 4* units, but not so much lately... lol
This was my reasoning as well. Then I did the event mini games and realized it wasn't going to take as long as I thought. No regerts.
Glad to hear Alhaitham is working out well. Maybe his demo wasn't as good as it should have been then. With things dying so fast, it's kinda hard to see how well they really work.
The demo is a tough way to evaluate him for sure, because everything dies in two hits and you end up losing mirrors running between things. His kit works a lot better when things aren't just disintegrating in front of him. They also only give you one other test character (Barbara I think?) so you don't get to see how he works with an actual Hyperbloom comp, or with Spread, which are his two best team setups.
