Ohh, yes, I managed to get her too a few days ago. And just pulled a second her in my handful of pulls today. Hoping to get Fischl and Venti from that limited time banner before bouncing to the other one to get some weapons and people

I want to love this game unconditionally, I really do, but the gacha is the worst I have ever experienced.
The gatcha isnt bad is the gating. running out of stuff like resin having the wait certain days to farm upgrade mats. Unless u spend all your waking hours playing this game. For example I got Jean recently and was excited, only to not be able to level her up effectively cus I ran out of everything taking her to 60. For a bit more than a casual player its punishing.
I'm kinda waiting to see how the banners work. If it's like DQ Stars, they repeat the same banner so much. The pity system DOES count singles pulls and not just 10 pulls, which is odd for a gacha, but pretty refreshing. I don't use a healer and just use food, teleport to prayer statues for heals, and it forces me to work on my dodge timing.
90 Pity is one of the lowest I've seen in a Gacha game, but I think thats thoroughly balanced by an awful base drop rate and the fact Dupes are indeed very important in this game. 4*'s you'll eventually be swimming in depending on how often they release new ones and how quickly the Hero pool fills up... but 5* and limited 5* especially are whale-walls and its not like they hand out enough resources for you to "save" for one unless you're talking about saving for 6-12 months.
If the Gacha undergoes no changes at all(up too and including giving out more Resources/Free Daily Pulls/etc), it'll probably wear on peoples nerves more and more as time progresses, more 5* heroes dilute the pool, and so forth... especially as I said if Limited Heroes are released "too often".
I'm patient enough to wait and see though, for a bit.
This story any good? Can I even finish the plot without spending $100?

Story is in chapters. Chapter 1(Prologue) is done and its story arch finishes, but it continues onto Liyue and its story is not completed yet.
You can do the entire story free, there is no charge for that and story doesn't require Stamina/Resin system at all, but you do require certain Adventure Ranks to continue and the prologue you can pretty much do entirely off AR exploring and so forth, no money required either.
The story is okay, pretty par for the course when it comes to an anime'esk fantasy story.
Paimon is amazing however. And anyone who says otherwise is a delusion fool

Paimon VA and behavior reminds me a lot of Tama from WoFF. If they're not the same VA I'd be shocked. I'd look it up but I'm lazy.
I've enjoyed it so far. You don't have to spend anything. There was a post on Reddit yesterday from someone who spent nothing and hasn't done any pulls (including free ones) and has made it to AR37 and cleared up to floor 9 Abyss.

You can progress just fine spending $0. If you're the type that wants to play a game for 6+ hrs a day, then you'll have a rough time at 30+ but right now, the game can fill 2-3hrs a day even after quests dry up before you're scumming for chests to level up or feel like biting the bullet and spending primogems/cash to refresh your daily stamina (resin) so you can farm the resin-locked mats. Story is like a typical MMO in that the story will be updated in chunks but we don't really know the timeline for that just yet.
So whats the best weapon to get from battlepass? I want to get bow for venti but i stopped using him since im having trouble getting good damage with. Maybe my artifacts are crap on him what set do you guys have on him?
I don't try to get huge DPS out of Venti, its now why he's amazing, you want to whore out his Q button, the CC is unreal. I personally build him with high Energy Recharge and use him as a Black-hole Simulator to gather up groups and then switch to another DPS for raw output. Theres a 4* Bow, i think Favonius Bow(You get from the main story for free) that has Energy Recharge as its substat, trying using that on him and just using him as a Q bot.
That said, all of the weapons are pretty effing good, its going to depend on what character you want a good weapon for the most. Personally, Sword is pretty nutty if you have a sword DPS like Keqing or Jean. Greatsword is great if you have Diluc, etc. The Bow is pretty unique, probably got some decent synergy with certain heroes, depending on how strong the Tornado is it could be like a Mini-Venti, but I imagine it'll work more like Maincharacter Q or Sucrose.
I'll agree that F2P is a resource drain, however, the battle pass, for $10 bucks, and the monthly card, for $5, are an incredibly good deal, and for as high a quality game as it is, was a no-brainer for me. The Battle pass is retro-active too. Also, for this game, as Proth mentioned in Discord, if you're pulling for lots of 5* characters, you're kinda doing it wrong or your whaling. The 4* rate ups are the real targets, as fully unlocked constellations are extremely powerful, and as someone mentioned earlier, this game has a very low "Spark" threshold to guarantee your character, and with monthly card + grinding chests, you've probably already got one or maybe two, depending on luck. I have had to spend zero resin refreshes, and I can keep my main team fully leveled and weapons leveled (Not talents or set artifacts), far before I'll hit AR 40, and I only started doing exp Leylines yesterday. I should even have my second team up and ready to go by then, and we're talking L70 stuff.
