Thing about a lot of good Combo units is their ability to Drop an E with a lasting effect and swap to a "DPS" hero. Fischl for instance can be both, but her E places a bird that shoots electric in set intervals. Xiang can also drop a Fire-breathing Bear and again, swap. same with Chong(Ice GS guy), can drop an Ice field AoE.

Ideally you want 1 big boi DPS (Fischl works, Diluc, some strong hitters) and some Synergy teams. Or you can just play heroes you really like the playstyle of because aside from the top of top tiers of the Abyss dungeon nothing in this game is so hard you can't win with anyone just being properly leveled *shrug*

Sucrose is a spamable aids, if there are two enemies to give each other elemental status + swirls. Weak vs Elites/Bosses.
XinQ is weak outside of his E, but super strong while it's up and if you can constantly proc a reaction
Klee is still precious and busted for spamming aoe fire; C6 is pretty close to a god, in this game, as one can get.

If it's any consolation, Honkai Impact had a lot of similar issues on release before they eventually fixed it. If you aren't keen on spending 2hrs killing all the mini bosses + 10-20 mins of resin then you can always just spend resin and yeet. Game has a good base at least, just sadly won't really solve all the issues people are complaining about until December/February.
