Sole reason I'm waiting till ar55 to farm them. If I'm gonna have to kill em 30+ times, might as well get a guaranteed 5 star artifact per kill out of it. Nothing needs max ascension yet so I'm fine spending resin elsewhere.

Jeez, reading all of you guys putting $$$ into this makes me glad I quit after I played for a few hours. I realized how P2W this game is and how much it relies on you opening your wallet.

Would most of you consider yourselves gamblers? Curious if it's the whole slot machine mechanic that draws people in.

It's not really P2W, more like Pay to go a bit faster, and no I'm not a gambler, I set an entertainment budget and even if I spend that money on this I never go over that budget.

P2W isn't the term I'd use considering everything in game can be cleared as f2p not to mention, it's ultimately a single player game. Whether someone else whales, spends a bit here and there, or remains f2p, has no bearing on your experience unless you're one of those people that has massive FOMO.

I personally despise gambling my money, and to echo others, P2W doesn't mean the same thing to us as it seems to mean to you. My initial purchase was akin to a collectors addition, and I was happy to do so, as I knew it would get me what I wanted: Venti. The rest has been more like a subscription then gambling money; they've provided me an experience worth paying for, so I do.

I definitely understand the idea of paying some $$$ to enjoy a game; especially if the game is free in the first place. I just didn’t like the idea of true P2W, but it sounds like they’re taking it somewhat in the right direction with this game.

Like I said, I only played for a few hours, but to my understanding you didn’t even get to keep the characters you bought with $$$??? They expire after a set amount of time or something?

of course you keep the characters, the Limited Banners end and a new Banner starts with a new character on it, but you don't just lose your characters lol

Like the others have said, definitely not pay to win and you can do just fine without spending anything, although Welkin Blessing ($5/month) and the battle pass $10/season ($20 if you want the background pic) are worth the prices for primogems, materials and the BP weapons.

I don't consider myself a gambler. While the excitement of the gatcha is there, I think of it more as spending money on something that brings me happiness when I'm feeling shitty otherwise. Have I spent more than I should have? Without a doubt. I also enjoy the game itself very much and don't mind supporting it. The game can obviously be better, but the devs have been doing a great job with quality of life upgrades the past 2 updates. many of the minor NPCs have more character than main characters in other longer running major games (looking at you Destiny).

If the gatcha system is all you think of when you hear Genshin Impact, this game probably isn't for you.

I put $40 into the game before I hit rank 20 and got the BP. We're on our third BP, so that's $60. The monthly gems pass is $5. I've put more time into this game than many other games I paid $60. I'm not gambling on banners and I don't really care what I get. I have the units I like.

I have addiction issues and probably shouldn't play games like this tbh. But I also don't regret anything because I have disposable income and actually got exactly what I wanted (C5 Ning) last time I binged. Still haven't spent nearly as much on this as I did on FFBE or PAD, and the way the gacha system is set up here I don't see it getting out of control. The way I rationalize it is, when I'm playing gacha games I tend to stop buying other game so meh it works out

IDK how much I've spent but I've bought all the gem packs once, and I think I bought the $30 pack a few times on its own. Plus Welkin and BP.

The temptation is there to spend money on this game but so far I’ve managed not to. If I did, like others, I’d justify it by saying it’s how much I’d spend on buying a full price game and considering I’ve been playing it everyday for like 2 months I feel like I’ve got my money’s worth by now.

This is the guide I refer to for gearing up characters and it's worked well for me so far. It's also usually pretty up to date (allow a few days for testing time before new things get added)

Man, this new event can be a little hard, but I got a ridiculous Co-op match earlier (Me on Diluc, Klee, Klee, Bennet) and we were wiping the floor with the thing and stayed together for 16 clears lol

It's much harder co-op than solo. The outgoing damage and its HP both scale really high based on the number of players.
