Don't think that's their goal. They want you on Game Pass, the device you use for Game Pass doesn't matter to them. Persona 6 being day 1 game pass is also kinda surprising to me.

Yeah I get that. I like having my games on Steam though so that doesn't do much for me either.

XBOX CEO Asha Sharma has announced a reset that includes more layoffs and studio closures. She mentioned the $20B investment in Activision, but instead they've lost $500M/year instead of seeing profits. Sharma also says that she has harmed their relationship with Sony after dropping the PS5 version of Gears and pulling the Halo trailer from Sony's State of Play.

Edit: Clarification on the $500M loss. It's every year since acquisition, not just a one-time loss.

XBOX hired Matthew Ball as their Chief Strategy Officer. It's a pretty good interview, but around the 28 minute mark, the interviewer brings up what made this guy infamous. He's the person who promoted adding advertisements to games.
