I mean, he's wrong. The geopolitical forces that are causing this conflict are pretty simple / well understood and neither actor has forgotten them.

When actors are in extreme conflict, it gets easier to predict their behavior. If you were to keep listing the top 2 or 3 things you expect to happen every time there was a development over the last week, nothing that has happened would have been outside of your lists. The world is actually getting pretty lucky, if you think about the other things on those lists.

It's simpler to drop a one-liner like you're at a WWE match or in an action movie and turn to the copter, though.
