The regime actually changing is not what Israel nor the US wants. They want the Iranian regime to stay in place. Just as a neutered state that obeys the will of Netanyahu and Trump's governments.

Honestly, the best case scenario for both Israel and Trump is that Iran continues to resist indefinitely but immaterially. It's pretty obvious that the entire point of all of this is just deflection to keep Netanyahu out of prison, and Trump out of the Epstein spotlight. Neither of them actually care about the economy or oil prices or anything like that.

I am like 90% convinced at this point that there's going to be a push to delay or cancel the midterms using the "operation" as justification. They know they are going to get crushed if they have a legitimate election.

And if that doesn't happen, and the GOP does get crushed in the midterms... Trump is still Commander in Chief. If he is faced with 2 years of being essentially a lame duck with opposition majorities stymieing him all the time, what's stopping him from going scorched earth militarily as a big "fuck you" to everyone?

Nothing, because the troops have already signaled that they will obey any order.

What's worse is, the Dems would need more than an already nearly impossible 60% in both houses to actually impeach and convict him.

Fetterman would vote against it. There's at least a dozen Dem Reps that would too, like Cuellar. So they would actually need an even greater supermajority.
