I sincerely don't believe he understands the gravity of it because if that was the case we wouldn't have concentration camps on our borders.

But I do think there's some calculus that aligns with the alt-right talking heads like tucker that explains this kind of retaliation wouldn't look good.

Iran says there was a manned plane flying over the downed drone they were also targeting, but decided not to strike because there were lives on board. Gives context to Trumps decision to not retaliate, and shame on his administration for trying to get him to do it knowing full well Iran had the same choice and decided to spare the human lives.

I'm also a big fan of drones now. Both countries sent a very powerful message and no one was killed. As wild as these past couple days have been, a downed drone seems to be the catalyst for everyone taking a deep breathe and talking for a moment.
