I remember that happening, the news wasn't so much the substance of what she said being new information, the surprise was that a sitting Congressperson would call out the ease with which Congressional members can and do abuse the system. If you can bring up all the other times people in Congress broke down exactly how easy it is for them to take advantage of their positions to enrich themselves and did so during a Congressional hearing on the record and on television, I'd be happy to agree with you that AOC wasn't doing anything special.

A government job for every American who wants one is not possible. A multi trillion dollar climate change deal off an income tax of the rich is not obtainable. Should things be changed? Yeah, although we are the most fortunate place on Earth we should always strive to do better. But are AOCs plans bad? Yes.

The idea of a federal jobs guarantee goes back to FDR, universal health care was first proposed by Teddy Roosevelt, investing $1 trillion into the environment from wealthy/corporate taxation isn't possible but cutting $1.6 trillion in their taxes is? Historically the people who will tell you these things aren't feasible are the ones who are making money by not having them.

Like I get that she's got a long way to go but all the stupid stuff she says is about making the country and the lives of the people who live in it better while taking those who've made it worse to task. Trump has 100% acted in every opportunity he's had to do so to enrich those who already have more than they could ever spend and demonize vulnerable populations in order to keep his base at a steady froth.

unless she has made major revisions to her plan, the way to tax them is not viable, similar to how bernie wants to pay for things just wouldn't be viable. rich people are too smart to be taxed that way.
