I’ve seen enough legit relationships bloom from Tinder to know that it does lead to things other than hook ups. They might still market themselves as the hook up app but I don’t think it any longer carries the stigma of being for hook ups only.

Used tinder for 3 years before starting to date current gf, I think most people if being objective would say that it's primary purpose is a hook up app though

Tinder definitely changes based on its userbase. In rural Texas it's a pretty solid way to find relationships. Even in metropolitan Texas, you can filter out most people looking for hookups by setting your minimum age above 22~23.
