If there are any hair, skin cells, etc. there should be. Unless she cleaned her tub out beforehand which could denature it if the cleaner is bleach based. I think? Maybe it's specific types of cleaners? I dunno.

Does it really? I find that hard to believe purely because of modern media and just a general understanding of biology and chemistry, but have no real knowledge on the subject.

In the indoor experiments, complete profiles could be seen even after 10 min rinsing of clothes under the tap and after 1 week in the bathtub. Outdoors, the results differed considerably between summer and winter as well as between pond and river. The longest exposure time still resulting in a complete profile was 2 weeks for a sample with skin cells in the pond during winter. In summer, the time period for erasing the bulk of DNA was 4 hours regarding epithelial samples and more than 1 day for blood samples in pond and river environments. All in all, the results demonstrate that DNA could still be recovered from clothes exposed to water for more than 1 week.

It is possible for enough DNA to be left behind in bath water to be detected, but it's also just as possible that there isnt enough in that one particular bottle, or at one point there was but it was consumed or degraded by microorganisms already swimming in that bottled tap water. The cells alone, if they arent already dead, wouldnt survive long in that bottle or environment, and once they're dead they're fair game for anything else in there.

They would also need to know what her dna looks like to see if it's actually her DNA, and not the DNA of a worker closing that bottle, unless they bus in the tub water by the drum and have machines bottle all this crap lol.

DNA is pretty stable naturally. It's also easily broken down by anything alive lol. Fyi it's not the h2o doing the dirty work, its everything inside that h2o that's fucking with the DNA.
