He has had a problem for years and really, really needs help. Plenty of people close to him have tried. He doesn't want it and isn't willing. He has latched onto binge drinking as his defining personality trait and uses it to amuse people at parties like somebody who just learned a few card tricks and doesn't realize nobody wants to see them.

I've fully stopped engaging him on it. He should probably be banned from that thread though. It is HORRIBLE that people who are in recovery, or possibly having a hard day and using that thread as a way to vent instead of taking a drink, have to read that shit when they open it up. It will definitely be a drinking trigger for some people and it really isn't cool.
