Is a period reliant on menses? Or can any physiological fluctuation plottable on a lunar calendar, experienced by a woman, and matching any or all of a list of symptoms be considered a period?

There's a "basin" you can get that the trap fits snugly inside for "disposal" but I just drove them a couple miles away and released them in a forest.
