being the face of something doesn't mean you're liked. it's generally just an association factor. when people think "who is a democrat" they think "AOC, pelosi, clinton, obama", in some order. there are democrats who don't like pelosi, obama or clinton as well so i'm not seeing the relevance as your post contradicts itself.
