If BotW had a few more linear moments to emphasize its combat it would've been better. Doing the Zora divine beast was probably my favorite moment in that entire game and nothing else matched up to it.
i'd play the fuck outta assassins creed hyrule
BOTW was a terrible game, everyone who invested over 100 hours says so!!
and you've had some doozies
I mean he's not wrong about it being Assassin's Creed: Hyrule.
Too bad assassins creed sucks

saying BotW is Assassin's Creed Hyrule is like saying Elizabeth Tudor was an English Hillary Clinton
I enjoyed the Divine Beast fights (the Goron one was a little stale but the Zora one was excellent). The game had fantastic world building and great characters. This is the most human I've ever felt Link and Zelda be. But a lot of people are underestimating how much of the experience of BOTW comes from importing standard open-world adventure game mechanics to a franchise that never had them.
Open World Exploration in a giant map, synchronization outlook points for the map with fast travel, climbing/parkour over everything (though AC doesn't have the glider for when you jump down from tall crap), timing dodges and blocks to open counter-attack windows, sneak mode complete with stealth attack assassinations, side-quests being 60%+ of the max out of the box time... BOTW is good, just not revolutionary except for the Zelda franchise.
I don't have as much fondness for LttP as a lot of other people since I didn't play it until much later (when it came out for GameBoy Color). I think it's the same reason I don't like FFIV nearly as much as a lot of other people.
theres a story arc in friday night lights where this black guy is dating this mixed girl and the white dad of the mixed girl tells them to stop dating and the mom of the black kid agreed i laughed out loud #texas
BotW could've been the GOAT zelda if it wasn't terrible. The mechanics are there, but the world itself is so god damn bland, empty, boring, and repetitive after only a few hours. Slap some real dungeons and real bosses with some real end game mobs that aren't reskins of a reskin of a lynel and you got a fantastic game.
Oh and get rid of the durability system altogether. Shit completely undermined ever having to explore for weapons and treasures. I don't know who the fuck ever thought that garbage ass system was a good idea.
The correct answer is Twilight Princess by the way.
