You missed this, because they moved the goal posts, but originally we were talking about a kid dressed in drag, period. The homophobes needed to look up more questionable behavior to justify their hate. I was originally defending the kid just dressing in drag, then had to clarify and say the behavior of dancing in bars is not ok even if I'm okay with the kid in drag.

Plenty of events are held at gay bars as a means for a space for queer people to congregate without retaliation or pushback from using a more public/straight dominated space.

I've been to some great punk shows at gay bars in the south because they're the only place that will let LBGT-focused bands play the music.

This is why I don't have a problem with the performance at a gay bar because it's a venue being used for a performance that the performers would have a mob harassing them outside of any other venue, in the name of caring about the child while traumatizing them.
