would have liked to have seen him go elsewhere for his own sake but if he likes the team and area that's understandable.

saw this today on espn. that's a cool thing to do

I’m assuming they’re back from China and picked their balls up at baggage claim?

It's nothing against him personally, he can do what he wants. From an NBA watchability perspective it is a complete waste however. Imagine if the nuggets had swung a trade for him midseason

That team is him, Thomas Bryant, and Rui. Bryant could be a solid starting center, maybe more. Rui could be a solid starting wing, maybe more. And they are saddled with Wall's worst contract in sports. FAs aren't going there and they don't have any assets so they aren't contending for a while. And thanks to Beal they won't be bottoming out either.

Wiggins contract is worse. Injured John Wall is technically a 0 RPM (well, maybe? He's apparently going to be an assistant coach this year while he's still rehabbing so maybe he'll draw up some bad playcalls or something), whereas Wiggins was a negative player last season and will likely continue to be going forward.

And if we're talking all of sports the Red Sox still have a year left on Pablo Sandoval, which has to be the worst contract ever signed in professional sports, tho it's only 5 mil left for 2020.

Wiggins is young and hypothetically could still improve.

I don't think anyone has less trade value than two years injured Wall on that deal

Wiggins has gotten worse year per year since he signed his fat ass contract. He's always been a negative defender, but he's also technically a negative on the offensive end the last 2 years as well.

Both players are 100% untradeable, but at least Wall won't actively make his team worse this year.

I mean we say this of course, but two players that were also in the running for having the worst contracts in the NBA, Chris Paul and Westbrook, got traded for each other so lol.

Zion ruled out for at least the first few weeks of the regular season. While not "serious" apparently his knee soreness is a bigger issue then originally thought.

Yeah I'm not arguing your objective value assessment, just that Wiggins still has more value in the eyes of executives since they can think "oh we'll fix him here." I don't think he's 100% untradeable like Wall.

Kind of a big deal considering the only real concern with him is his weight and how his joints will hold up. I'd imagine we see something similar to the Blake Griffin career arc although hopefully without the major injuries - explosive the first few years then slowly have to adjust to a more perimeter game

Well there appears to be at least one player people can fire up trade scenarios about. Domantas Sabonis and the Pacers apparently won't be able to come to terms on an extension and are engaged in trade talks for him.

Siakam 4 year/$130 mill extension with the Raptors, no team or player options.

Insane that you can get 32M a year when you aren't a top-30 player in the league.

not too much when you're a mean 2-way player who has shown tremendous growth every year you've been in the league and just averaged 20-8-4 on 50% with elite defense on the defending champs in the Finals

he's got some holes in his game but max was a no brainer, especially when it takes him from 25-29.

    The Max ruins the NBA

I don't think the max itself is a problem, but it's part of the underlying issue the NBA has with small vs big markets.

Tho it likely is thrown around way too much. In the context of players that end up with max contracts, Siakam is totally deserving given his age and expected development. But we wouldn't be in this world if the NBA hadn't gone full retard (read : The Lakers, who fucked the entire free agency market with their Mosgov and Luol Deng contracts) back when the salary cap spiked up in 16
