People who get angry at the tiniest little reveals in a trailer should just stop watching trailers. This is how we ended with with Trailers for endgame that where "look at all the pretty lights" and didnt even reveal the central conceit of the movie.

The idea that there are people who know enough to know that it's a "spoiler" without knowing enough to know it was coming is just a type of person that doesn't exist IMO.

Spouses of nerds, and kids. People that have watched and loved all the movies once, but dont talk about it online or seek out more information, they just see a trailer and go.

That's the thing about Marvel right now. Most of the characters that people like and they made movies about are gone. No more Iron man, Captain America, and Thor soon.

I don't think I'm gonna get to see this anytime soon because my local AMC had their 40 year old air conditioner die and they tried to power thru by offering free drinks and refunds for anyone who couldn't stand the heat but now they've just given up and been canceling shows until they get the A/C fixed. RIP.

I'm at the point with Marvel movies where I will still go see them because of sunk cost fallacy and it's something for one of my best friends and I to do something on a Thursday night, but I don't rightly care about ducking spoilers or anything. In fact, I'll outright seek them out sometimes (and still watch it) but I feel nothing when watching most of MCU related stuff any more.

I won't spoil it for anyone else obviously, but me? Every movie is the best one since Endgame. Thunderbolts* was the last one to market itself as that. I'm sure this one will be the next one. Fam, none of your movies have been the best since Endgame. The only real exception I'd give to that is Guardians 3.

I'm sure my opinion here will be met with calls for my head. I'd love to love Marvel again. Right now I just don't. It's hard to get excited for anything.

Isn't that just every movie marketing? This is the best new movie ever. Especially in franchises, your ads aren't gonna be like "sorry you've already seen the best ones"

Also Thunderbolts was actually amazing and maybe the best post Endgame Marvel movie

It's unreasonable to grade everything against the culmination of 10 years of setup IMO. Not every single movie can, should be, or needs to be Endgame. GotG3 was a great movie. Thunderbolts was a very good movie. Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness was a great movie. No Way Home was an incredible movie. I'm positive F4 is going to set a high bar. The next Spiderman I'm sure is also going to be excellent.

Not every movie will be a banger. But that doesn't mean they're all failures if they're not Endgame.

Yeah, I think post Endgame there's been bigger flops than in phase 1-3 but not every movie in phase 1-3 was amazeballs. Marvel was just bigger hype at the time. Lots of "just good" or "Ok" movies in those phases too.

Eternals and Secret Invasion being absolute garbage with Johnathan Majors also being a shitty human being set all their plans back years. And those projects weren’t cheap either. Feels like it’s only recently they’ve started to regain some footing with their direction.

The Marvels probably did more harm to the MCU than any other project.

Even if it wasn't *that* bad, it's the only movie that was an outright box office bomb.

Shang-Chi, Wakanda Forever, Guardians 3, and No Way Home were all great. Thunderbolts, Multiverse, and Thor were all decent to really fun. A lot of the other ones like Marvels, Secret Wars, etc. I haven't seen, so can't comment but they look like they were average to crap at best.

Also not throwing Deadpool vs Wolverine in the list as I'm not sure if it's even canon in MCU now or what, but was a great movie.

Secret Invasion is like Inhumans except people actually watched it so it really hurt the brand. It's one thing if you put out a shitty show and no one sees it. It's much, much worse when everyone does.
