This one is out of Houston, a 10th grader was put into a chokehold by ICE at a restaurant supply store. The boy was sent to the hospital with various injures. ICE had also confiscated his phone, then sold it to a kiosk/vending machine that was nearby to where they were staying.

A father with his six kids in a SUV were attacked by ICE. ICE shot a flash bang at the SUV resulting in all of the kids being sent to the hospital with injuries. The youngest was two months old.

ICE snatched a parent waiting at a school bus stop who was with their child. The incident took place as children were being picked up by the bus.

Need a lawyer to help with this but CAN he actually cancel them? Aren't elections run by the state? Also even if he does cancel doesn't that just mean everyone whose term expires is just going to leave empty seats come Jan?

I’m of the opinion the GOP wouldn’t be scrambling to redistrict certain states and trying to pass all kinds of voter suppression laws if there wasn’t a genuine fear of elections.

I have never seen anyone show any actual proof that he could cancel either the midterms or the next presidential election. It's all just fearmongering

He can't cancel shit. The President has zero authority to do that. Congress can't "cancel" anything either, they could pass a mandate which changes election day, but not cancel it.

The doomer take is that since there's no precedent for a cancelled or delayed election in US history that SCOTUS would cite said lack of precedent as justification for Trump doing whatever. But that's just talking to be talking.

All of that said. Those regulations and checks are only as good as the people that are their stewards abiding by them. If Trump says to cancel the election and everybody just shrugs and goes along with it, then well, idk. But that's something out of the control of the public. The consequences of such an act is not, though.

It's actually somewhat remarkable that no US federal elections (as far as I can tell) have ever been delayed. It would be perfectly appropriate if some kind of major disaster happened nationwide around Nov of an election year. Still hasn't happened though.

When he decides; Yeah, we're not going to do an election, what is the response. Clutched pearls and speeches. a lot of "he can't do that!" but no actual action.

He can't cancel elections but he will 100% impede them in whatever way possible, legal or otherwise. Expect to see ICE at major election centers in Democrat cities to cause chaos. It's not out of the realm of possibility that those fucks are gonna be "checking for papers" to those waiting in line and just being a nuisance that will ultimately make some people not want to deal with it and stay home.

On top of that, Republican states have been preparing ahead of time like changing some laws to only count ballots received by Election Day. The old way of ballots counting as long as the postmark was on Election Day is void so if your shit takes longer to get there, too bad.

They already have all the cards required to win.

Due to Trump's non-support of voting, his supporters in those states will stay home and he'll get crushed in the election. He will declare the election illegitimate and will basically be the king of the red states. Then whoever gets elected in the burple states will have to figure out whether we're two countries now or how to make us one country again.

Will be a fun rude awakening for a lot of the red states since most are welfare queens feeding off the teet of blue states. If that cash flow gets stopped then Mississippi, Alabama, Tenn, Louisiana and others just being able to support themselves and while Texas also contributes a lot it can't hold up all of those states alone.

An ICE agent handcuffed a patient to a bed after entering Hennepin County Medical Center without permission. ICE agents also allegedly detained a man fighting a rare genetic disease at Fairview Southdale Hospital.

ICE agents have been reported at Regions Hospital in St. Paul and denied a patient's wife access to her spouse, threatening trespassing charges.
