absolutely fucked, think the early concerns were p silly given the end result. perfect companion piece to Fury Road, don't really see them in comparison to each other but rather complimentary wholes. Hemsworth was great.

It was still a bit too CGI-ish for my taste, but the end product serves to make an already spectacular movie in Fury Road even better with the more fleshed out understanding of the world.

I did enjoy how it wasn't really laid out like a Mad Max movie, it was clearly its own storyline structure.

I just got home and I don't have time to make it to the theater. The good theater that is. I have a Regal near me but their sound system is crap!! I refuse to see this in anything besides Dolby. Technically I could go to the AMC I usually go to but the next showing is at 10:30pm. So it would really start at 11:00 with all the trailers.

Times are wonky this weekend. It's either before 5pm or 9, 10 o'clock at night.

ya fasho, wasn't perfect but the way some people reacted to the initial trailer it was like they entertained the possibility that some mid CGI would prevent this from absolutely fuckin like FOOLS

and agreed otherwise. in 5 years when joints inevitably start running double-features can't wait to hit them back-to-back. not as complimentary but feels close to Kill Bill 1 + 2 in that these babies go together like rice and wine. will be rad if Miller ever goes forward with the Max-immediately-before-Fury-Road prequel to finish off the modern trilogy.

Fury Road was still largely conventional effects enhanced with CGI, this definitely had quite a few purely CGI sequences. Looked better than in the initial trailer but still sticks out like a sore thumb in comparison to the big action sequences in Fury Road.

Fury road had cars built but they had straight up CGI cars in the scenes and a ton of CGI in spots. It was all very well done and used where it was needed though.

it's well known that all the car chase scenes, which is well over 1 hour of the movie, were done with real ass cars and real ass stunts and then enhanced with cgi on top of it. the wacky pole guys with drills on top of moving cars were real ass people, however many feet in the air, moving in real ass cars doing all the fight choreography. they won a bunch of stunt awards for doing that scene alone

most of the fury looks "real" because a lot of it is about as "real" as a hollywood action movie gets

good gravy can we end this dumbass discourse and go back to how dope Furiosa was, it and Fury Road's CGI are the least interessting things about them. effects in both are mostly practical and fuck unabatededly.

in far more tragic news no one is going to see it, only a $30 millionish weekend. casts grave doubts Miller will get another $150 million plus to do the Max prequel he wanted. sign of a society in absolute decay it's the best movie of the year by a mile so far.

People are just being conditioned to just wait a couple weeks for the movie to release online.

Furiosa is 100% a movie to see in theaters, but there are plenty of movies now where I know I can just wait a month and watch it at home. Just from so far this year The Fall Guy, Ghostbusters Frozen Empire, and Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare come to mind.

And yeah Tom Burke could 100% play Solid Snake

Movie was dope! Glad I saw it in theaters. Definitely a step down from Fury Road but the difference is that was a 5-star once in a lifetime action movie and this was a 4-star top tier action movie.

just saw it. the flaw of this movie is that it's title is associated with fury road. as a stand alone it's quite good but if you walk in with any expectations of it being a high intensity chase movie it's just not.

as dumb as it may sound something as simple as more intense music would've helped this movie along for me. 2 and a half hours felt like 2 and a half hours
