Chargers signed Mike Pouncy to a 1yr 9mil extension
Feels like they’re gonna be in cap hell in 2-3 years the way they keep handing out these expensive contracts.
Rumor floating on the twitters is 6 year $90 mil extension for Zeke.
the two deals so far are actually cheap considering the market. top 5, or less, money for a top 10 player at a position is team friendly. and both jaylon and la'el are top 10 at their positions. zeke is the deal that will change the game. if zeke gets paid, dak can't get more than 25 million per year
Saw a funny bit that 8 out of the 12 players that were on the Dolphins calendar last year are no longer with the team lol.
xavien howard gonna waste all his years away on that team
I don't see why Amari, Zeke and Dak don't just get together and split the beans up like Dwight and Jim did in the office.
if you have xx,xxx, xxx a year, find a way that all three of you are happy so that you can keep playing together. Zeke is being a selfish prick because he is hurting his boys chances at getting that money too.
Can you imagine turning down 15,000,000+ million dollars a year solely for the stature of being the highest paid RB in the league because of your ego? Gurley's deal, right now, is a TERRIBLE deal for the Rams and will hurt them in their future if he doesn't step up. It makes me rage to the 10th degree when a a football player has a contract and decides to hold out because he wants another Lamborghini. What is the point of contracts when any player can hold out and eventually get what they want? The lifestyle creep is so real it is ridiculous with these players. You can't make 20,000,000 you've earned so far work while you help your organization set up for their future and set roots for yourself?
Completely rhetorical, but I'd think as a RB in the NFL, guaranteed money and a place to grow and live is a top priority, not the dollar amount at the end of it. Gurley got 45,000,000 guaranteed, give Zeke 55M guaranteed and make it a 4 year deal. If this dude turns that turn, he can go pound sand and I'll run with the Pollard train.
/RAGEEND
To further add, the NFL owners are digging themselves into the deepest darkest holes right now. Every player who has held out ends up getting what they want.
The owners need to stand together and if a player holds out? Drop them from the league and no one picks them up and sue that player. That will teach anyone from trying to hold out against contracts.
Then again, winning is a priority so that will never happen. Imagine if Bell never got a deal? Bet Zeke, Gordon would have thought twice about this years antics.
Read on average a running back drastically reduces in effectiveness around the 1200 carry mark. Zeke is at 936.
There hasn't been a career RB stay good in the NFL in quite a long time. Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson are pretty much the last of the old guard. Most of these other guys are having one, two, MAYBE three good years and then they fall of the map, disappear entirely.
Murray
McCoy
Bell
etc
lol at thinking weed is gonna be this huge bargaining chip
cocaine is the vastly superior drug and it’s out of your system in 48-72 hours
i understand why these rbs are doing what they're doing. their shelf life is like 5 years of elite play. they have exactly 1 contract in them where they'll make top dollar. get what you can get
its the qbs that should go the andy dalton route. the only reason the red rifle is still in the league is 'cause he's cheap as hell... and cheap as hell for a qb is more money than every other position in football lol
RB’s especially I have zero issues with doing whatever they can to get paid while they can still perform at an elite level. The same exact cowboys had zero issues with giving DMM a 1000 touches only to show him the door.
Goff is signing a 4 year extension worth about 32 mil per year
rappaport is reporting it’s going to be the biggest guaranteed money in nfl history
Wonder what Dak is gonna be asking for now
